No I didnt forget New Orleans, Pensa, or Omaha. The fact of the matter is they are better
Speedwhored then armorwhored. And no happymeal, Northampton cannot be armorwhored.
Armorwhoring implies that you can bounce shells of the same caliber you should be carrying.
Northampton dosn't have the displacement to carry enough armor to bounce 8" shells. Sirus
(uk CL) for example can carry enough belt to bounce US 8" shells. And really, who
beltwhores CAs? You should be playing range in a CA not fictory.

Not entirely true. The US CA's northampton and new orleans can both AW
effectively, assuming that you play them in blitz. The North and new orleans can
both be set up belt-heavy to rush, and they can also be set up with tons of bulge for
fictorying in gb2.

As for the question at hand, you are better off taking all but 0.2-0.5" of belt off and
putting bulge on, or just no armor. The texas has no chance of AWing effectively.

Don't bother AWing your Texas. It's small and is really hard to hit (unless your enemy
has great gunners).

You have a good level gunner so I trust that your spread must be mediocre to great,
you won't have problems hitting DDs to CAs.

Since your tub is slow, I suggest putting 0.2 belt and as much bulge since most DDs and
TBs will be rushing to torp you.

For usn armor, You need 3-4" more belt than the size of the shell. For eaxmple, 12"
shells take 15-16" belt. 16" monty shell take around 25" belt though
Deck is arouind twice as effective as belt.

i got bored before and tested the US armor. 1.7 deck is what you need if u want to reduce
mid range 5"/weak 6" shells. but yes, virtually useless
