Check out the L1 pictures. Poms on a QE are just pure bliss. It really depends on what
you want to do with the ship though - Poms are good for defending yourself from bombing
runs, but that doesn't happen too often - you're not a high priority target for CVs.
RP10As let you scout-snipe and create blinding opportunities, but you don't really have
the speed to exploit it. A 5-turret broadside still makes an AA she carries insanely
awesome at what it does.

Either way though, the QE is a good support battleship. AA of two different kinds, plus
guns that hit like a truck with BB3 range.

Anyone have any success with the Pompoms on the Queen Elizabeth?

Poms on the L1 and L2 do fine. 4 slots is enough to down almost all/any planes if you can
catch them at max range GA, all the way to the point they are too close.

The better AA players will know how to adjust angles as the planes come in over your head
to take down the very last bomber or two. If you can learn how to do this, you effectively
open up the kill zone... and ultimately you can afford to be a bit late on acquiring the
enemy air targets as they approach.

The key is to do it fast and efficient in one pass, especially true if you are a BB3456.
But I digress on that... we've all played enough to know the roles.

You tell me when they try to bomb you and regroup all planes alltogether, making your life
easier. Of course, not everyone regularly regroup. Just cool when people are manual
bombing or sometimes blockshotting TB/DB

Too bad that person didn't blockshot over 8 planes, else there would be more experts and
xp for me ;)


47 knots L1 + Pom pom FTW!

I've been able to down multiple planes with just the front arc of my Emerald, so I'd say
that 4 pom-poms can certainly do a respectable amount of damage. I'm pretty sure 4
T-slots per side is enough to use effectively, and they're better than nothing and
dodging, that's for sure. Plus, at an L1/L2 level, you've already capped SD and are
probably close to capping the repair rate, so two extra repairs aren't really worth it
compared to a workable AA set. Or HHs if you're so inclined.
