Monty will one shot any ship, armor or no. Back when there weren't as many BB4 and 5 in
GB, AWing a PoW worked. Today you won't be able to get close enough to make use of your
armor, because you'll be obliterated by a hailstorm of 16"+ shells.

Drop the armor, learn to dodge and pick your fights. Don't charge when they can see you.
Don't rush more than one ship (alone).

AW PoW + dual 16"D = fail.

Period.

There is a reason the best PoW drivers use a SWed quad 14"N setup.

Damn its been a while, haven't checked the thread. I have full deck and i still get 37
knts which is good to sneak up on Big BBs and block their @ss. I haven't tried Speed
whoring yet( i am guessing its 0 deck?). But i will try that. I am using AW and 16 inches
Ds on the POW. Same range as quads but more fire power.

A POW played like a KGV will stink. A POW played like a POW is far superior to a KGV
played like a KGV.

Armor reduces damage. Speed avoids it entirely.

KGV + 15in mk III N's + KM play .style = best of both worlds B)

Ya i used to play AWing too, and at first time when i got the pow i missed the armor, but
than with time i saw that the better fire power and better speed was more than worth
it...and than i decided to try the SW setup, and to my suprise, it had 47 overheat(that's
ubber...) rty SW, it's better than just fictory with your tank, and you'll get more skills,
especialy when it comes to dogding enemy fire...
as said before, the bulge is disposable...i mean pow is small enough to avoid TW torps, and
even noobish ss attacks, sure if a ss take you by suprise your screwed...but the alternative
you may survive the first round, but no way uk bulge can take a second or third torp salvo,
so it'll buy you like 10 seconds of life if the ss knows what he's doing...
pow is the best bb 3 for gb2...soon when you get the hang of it 100K+ games will be more
than normal

I strongly believe the PoW is better SW.

From all indications, the PoW is barely able to load enough armor on it to be able to
bounce significant numbers of opposing shells. Moreover, it can move VERY quickly if it is
unarmored, allowing enhanced dodging, and the capability to both give and deny battle at
the PoW driver's whim.

Today's Great Battle is full of Battleships that are bigger than the PoW (BB4s or BB5s). I
think against such vessels a SW PoW is the way to go, as any BB5 and most BB4s should be
able to punch through your armor, unless they are foolish enough to let you in close when
you're armored. In which case, they are either blind (and you are very fortunate), or not
the opponents you truly need to worry about.

Of course, there will be circumstances where armor is more useful, such as perhaps
fighting the numerous PBBs of the game (and hoping they don't switch to AP). But I still
think unarmored PoW is the way to go, particularly with the expense of armoring.

My two cents.

I personally prefer AWing the POW. 39 is more than enough to beat most of your
enemies with that.
And 50k attack per game is not the best you can get. If you play this ship the right
way 150k attack per game should be easy.
If you have a really good game you can hit around 300k.
So, as you can see. Practicing makes the difference...
