After using the trip 16 setup i belive we should change the stickies to say that the
16inch is the perfered setup since the Firepower makes up for the range.

Also in a GB2 enviroment you will not of ammo

Btw i have a colorado

indeed. Do not underestimate the dual 16s...they not only have superior range and spread
characteristics, but individual shell damage is fantastic.

"Two shotting BB4's/5 in a BB2 is fun "

You can do that with the dual 16" guns. The triple 16" guns are hardly "mini monty" when
you consider the spread and the range. It's hardly worth it unless you're just dicking
around, to be honest.

If used correctly the 3x16" setup is awesomesauce. But it also requires a bit of luck and
patience . Two shotting BB4's/5 in a BB2 is fun ^^

I'd say its mainly a fun set up tho , not really a standard one .

Trip 16 setup on CO is failsauce incarnate. Sure it hits hard, but you're relying on the
fact that so many people are worthless noobs to get in range...Those guns have low bb1
range. Any halfway decent player in any bb2 or higher will rape you long before you even
get a shot off. Theres only 2 combat viable setups for the co...dual 16" mk2 L, and the
2nd set of 14Ls. In BB combat, range is life, firepower is meaningless if you cant get in
range.

Even in a GB environment, range is rather important. IMO, the 50% heavier broadside
doesn't justify losing 2 full ticks of range.

I consider running mini monty colorado with at level crew and or not speed capped
an act of pure foolishness. You need lots of speed and opportunity to succeed with
mini-monty colorado due to the uber short range. It's a lot of fun, but only with uber
high level'd crew.

At level, stick with dual 16''

Btw i used to have a colorado (in sodak now)

As the author of the guide, I fail to see why this should be the case. The 16" triples
come well after the level of the ship, have less range than most BB1 in the game, and
run dry after little more than 20 salvos, on top of being unable to mount a feasible AP
and HE combination. If you can prove that you can play a prolonged match against
equal-tier ships without becoming useless partway into the game, then I might consider
otherwise, but until then the guide stays as it is.

Just because you prefer the 16" Triples does not mean the guides should change. The guides
are the way they are after numerous edits and community input from more people than just
simply you and I.

The 16" Triples have only 2 binds so it is entirely possible to run out of ammo. They make
your Colorado slower and the level of the guns are higher than the ship, meaning that new
Colo users usually can't use them (unless they have gunners well ahead of their BO).

Don't get me wrong, I think the 16" Triples are hilarious fun and can be very effective,
but the range of the duals makes them the standard choice for me personally.

I'd invite people to instead try both types for themselves on their own Colorados, if they
have them, and choose which applies to their own playstyle/desires.
