This is amusing - I always wondered why the county has six T-slots, with two of them having 42 space rather than the 30 of the other four. Now I know. The County-class originally had 4x4" singles as a secondary armament rounded out with - wait for it... TORPS. That's right, the 42-space T-slots were designed to take a single quad-torp launcher each - an utterly ridiculous idea in Navyfield.
Anyways - more to the point, there really isn't enough difference between the Kent, London, and Norfolk sub-classes to justify an in-game remod. If there's anything at all, then I'd say the Norfolk is the only re-mod to include. Why? Because then we could give it (and only it) the Dual 8" Mk.IIs that could actually shoot 8" AA shells. Now -that- would be the absolute boss of heavy-hitting AA. In fact, it'd probably be overkill, but such glorious overkill it would be on the rare off-chance you hit something with it.
As for the question of "In the name of God, /why/?" here is my answer: Because. I mean, hey, we've already got the 18" singles to fool around with even though they're useless. Why not just have some fun? =P
