  • Should the County Class get a remodel

I am wondering if the County Class Heavy Cruiser, might be able to have a remodel. In real
life the County Class had three variants. The Kent Class, London Class and the Norfolk Class.

This is amusing - I always wondered why the county has six T-slots, with two of them
having 42 space rather than the 30 of the other four. Now I know. The County-class
originally had 4x4" singles as a secondary armament rounded out with - wait for it...
TORPS. That's right, the 42-space T-slots were designed to take a single quad-torp
launcher each - an utterly ridiculous idea in Navyfield.

Anyways - more to the point, there really isn't enough difference between the Kent,
London, and Norfolk sub-classes to justify an in-game remod. If there's anything at all,
then I'd say the Norfolk is the only re-mod to include. Why? Because then we could give
it (and only it) the Dual 8" Mk.IIs that could actually shoot 8" AA shells. Now -that-
would be the absolute boss of heavy-hitting AA. In fact, it'd probably be overkill, but
such glorious overkill it would be on the rare off-chance you hit something with it.

As for the question of "In the name of God, /why/?" here is my answer: Because. I mean,
hey, we've already got the 18" singles to fool around with even though they're useless.
Why not just have some fun? =P

You want a AA CA? Put rp10s on the R-Slots....done.

it gives you high speed and ample of ammo to burn through.

I agree, I'd trade 2 of the R slots for some decent AA. Although I'd push for 10 T slots
because UK AA isn't all that great. It's still a big slow target, so fair's fair.

EDIT: Actually, trading the two innermost R turrets for T turrets would be just as good as
long as they can fire close to 360 degrees, and lose one T turret on each side. So have 6
T turrets (one front, one rear, and two on each side with 84 space each turret).

4 T slots of RP10 goodness on either side? UK needs an AA CA. The emerald gets
too small after a while.

Now who would want to remove one of the turrets by remodding it?
