What Ewood said. Stick some fighters on an AA-Emerald until they reach level 35. Then
buy a Dido, re-mod it into a Sirius, and stick AA guns on -that- until your FPs reach T2
Fighters. Yes, it's a long grind. Yes, you will get frustrated. Yes, it's worth it in
the end.

Firstly, your fighter pilots will get less Xp (especially the lvl 48 one) in an Illustrious,
so you'll struggle to level them on that effectively.
My suggestion is to roll and level 2 more fighter pilots as well as your lvl 48 one to lvl
60 using AA (the Emerald is good for this) so ALL your fighters can use T2's (not to
mention the fact that CL's get free repair, so the only thing you're 'paying' for credit-
wise is the cost of the ammo).

Then purchase a Collossus/Courageous and run 4 fighters and two bombers (yes I
know you said you prefer bombing, however to level them (your fighters) you're
going to have to put them on a ship, and as no UK CV has gun-slots till the illustrious
to put them in, your outa luck if you want them to get decent Xp, not to mention
learning how to use them.
