hey guys ive noticed that only the UK section of the forums does not have a guide for
the use of AA on UK ships.

i know that UK players rarely use AA's on there ships but i find it as having a
disadvantage not to be able to shoot down enemy scouts.

so please,. i would lyk to request the pro's of emerald/furious to please share with us
your expertise on UK AA guns, how to set them up, and their Golden Angles!

Pom poms aside, with the 5.25" RP10 A, you will never hit the reload cap with normally
leveled and classed UK AA gunners. Unlike IJN, there is no optimal level to class the AA
gunners, but never the less, they do need to be delayed, long before they get useful with
non-pom poms.

isen't that only needed for IJN?

Mind you normally lvled AA gunners(RN) with 200 vets do well at higher lvl's(100+).
(using pomp pom's ofcourse)

"Golden angles are 31 for L's"

I've found that 32 works best for me with the L's

Also, the UK AA might not seem like much, but it makes you much better when using other
nations AA as it forces you to learn more advanced tactics or fail miserably. I like to
think learning AA on the Emmy with RP10Ls is what made me so good with 3.46C/32s on the
Moltke. It's like I have a 6th sense that the Emmy and her RP10s beat into me xD

Well it's just that AA gunners need to be leveled differently to be useful. As in, keeping
them as Arm. Sailors as long as possible. Only then will the A variant guns be useful.

it does, AA gunners suck for 5,25'' guns, however with high enuf lvl and enuf vets
you can do great using pomp pom's, I suggest reading Nokim's topic regarding AA.

I would like to know, legend, are you're using or will be using AA gunners or just regular
gunners for AA?

You're right to go with an Emerald - it's hands down the best AA ship the Royal Navy can
muster.

It's got 9 slots (BO, Main Gunners, T-Gunners, Four Supports) can carry four scouts, and
has two viable setups.

First off - never leave guns off. Yes, you've got the C and D turret which are weirdly
positioned so they can only fire off one broadside, but if you leave them off, you've
turned yourself into a fatter Sirius (that can turn slightly faster).

Primary Setup: Six Dual 5.25" Turrets - between QF and RP10, it comes down to personal
choice (I'll detail that in the thread). You're guns are heavy, they are powerful, and
you'll be able to order and receive a large pepperoni pizza with sardines and olives in
the time it takes them to reload. If you've AA'd with any other nation, then FORGET
everything you know about AAing tactics, 'cuz you're gonna learn them all over again. If
you use L guns (and you should) then you'll have one of the shallowest (and thus largest
and most forgiving) Golden Angles of any AA cruiser, and your shots will hit like a truck.
Golden angles are 31 for L's, 32 for N's, and 36 for D's. I find that 33 actually works
better for the L's, but experiment and you may find one that works best for you.

Lulz Setup: Six Pom-poms - it's great fun. Obviously a higher golden angle (Trainworld
claims 51 to be it, but trainworld is dead wrong here - 46 works much much better) and
weaker shells. Beautiful for downing bombers, but you have to remember to lead. If you
don't lead properly, then you're just a waste of a CL slot.

More to come tomorrow.
