  • Brook noob with some questions

Okay, secondary weapons ... any point in getting them?

speed ... seems pretty slow, but I really don't have the range to stand off and
engage, so far I've been pretty lucky taking out DD's but I think going up against
CA's and higher is going to be out of the question.

Armor ... right now I'm not mounting any extra, any thoughts?

thanks

So ... what level gunners to start making good use of those tripple 6's?

work on your support crew. you need to think about engineers and repairers. and
just use those beautiful triple 6" guns that the brook uses to good effect. you are a
CL and with those gunners used correctly you are a CA killer due to the almost
blockshot you can get out of those guns (assuming you have high enough gunners
to do it) combined with wicked reload stats.

as for the T slots, maybe mount HH or DC (reccoment DC as HH is expensive) but no
need for guns. R guns are more than enough for whatever is out there on the
surface, and even occasionally BBs....

also check the engine you are using. you want the one with the most horsepower
with the highest overheat ration (shown as a ###%)
also probably dont need to worry about armour unless you are in a blitz, 0.2belt and
some bulge for a GB as a BB will wtfpwn you wether your maxed out with deck or
not.
Play smart, learn the pros and cons for your ship. it'll all work out for you ;)

exactly Pnov,,,so very very fragile ^^

LordKelvin has/can do it....seen it w/ my own eyez and it was bad ass the one sole time I
was present for the roflcopterexplosions of sub parts.

3 binds per HH x 8 = enough HH to kill 3 subs assuming you can aim. Enough to kill 4 if
there's at least 1 SS1.

"More than just useful. You can sink the entire other team's submarine force with just
those T mounts. I've done it numerous times."

Unless the force is made of several subs with 100+ crews that ignore any HH thrown at them
and will wipe you before you suicide with DC.

Subs are very fragile.

Brooklyn can mount hedgehogs or mines on those T slots. That makes them useful.

A Brooklyn is actually a lethal minelayer. No reloads, but the ability to drop 16 mines
in 1 tight cluster, which will blow up pretty much anything that stumbles over them.
The trick, of course, is proper placement of the mines.

If I remember correctly, brook is the one with 30 T slot space, so don't bother it.
Brooklyn's speed is decent. Your job is to blast the heck out of DDs.

Armor:
0.2 belt
as much bulge as possible until you loose 1 or 2 knots of speed.

Don't remember brooklyn being able to mount any meaningful secondary guns, so probably not.

Check if you have the right engine, use the 110,000HP one. You should be fast enough to
outrun a CA with no problems and give some DDs a run for its money in terms of speed.

No armour.... just 0.3 belt and bulge, just like every other USN ship.
