against ftr squad leader?

i classed my fighters on time, i'm still working on their vets and i didnt even reach 100
vets with most of them, they are now ACE fighter (KM fps) and level 78.

i didnt class them to Fighter squadron leader to not lose those 4 points in Bomber stat.

Should i class them now to make them Fighter squadron leader as it is useless the
bomber stat?

so i class my bombers, that's fine.

now the fighters, assuming the stats have been messed with, should i class those on time
or not? surely the only thing that has been changed is that they no longer have def from
the bomber stat? so now only the fighter stat counts. but the issue with classing fighters
was crew growth, no? so even though only the fighter stat counts the crew growth still
decreases as you class, so fighters should stay as fighters as before, right? can someone
confirm what i think is correct or incorrect please?

It was always confirmed that classing on time vs fighter/ace only.
