Nah, I played around with the Somers (3 mine racks, 4 single 7" guns), then the
Brooklyn (8 mine racks, 3 triple 6" guns, 2 HH). Didn't try the Omaha after that.

Considering the DDX's limited armament space and T-slots, I doubt that.

Has anyone tried the Omaha? It's mine-laying ability would be limited, but the speed
should allow for some hilarity...

Except that the New Orleans is a CA and cannot use mine racks. Only CL and below.

Or are you guys talking Depth Charges, which is an entirely different system than mines.

cool thanks all

probably go for the new orleans just to mess around and get out fast and use as a
sub killer when they are spotted by sumat else

Stormvanger, by that argument, the most lethal minelayer is the New Orleans, which can
definitely go faster than the Brooklyn.

The Somers DD is the best small ship for being a dedicated minelayer. It can drop 6 mines
at a time, is small, and holds several reloads.

The most LETHAL minelayer is actually the Brooklyn. No reloads, but with it's 8 T slots
it's able to drop 16 mines and then get back to the business of shooting people with
fifteen 6" gun barrels.
