Hello there. I would like to ask you a question. I'm playing a colorado with 16" 50cal L
duals. My gunners are lvl 78 (vetted, experted). The problem is with the firing system of
my ship. The reload, range, damage and spread is quite good, but I always experience some
lag, or delay, after I press the fire button (roughly 1 sec). It is not much, but is just
enough for me to miss other ships.

Is this normal for a gun? Will it get better? I'm asking this, because I've never
experienced something like this with my km line before. One of my friends tried to play
with my ship and he said, he didn't saw something like this with his ijn ships either.

It still has to calculate the entire path of flight of all the shells fired. Which takes a
majority of the delay.

I've already posted how this works somewhere else in this sub-forum.

Also there is a delay between you hitting the spacebar. Your computer sending the packet
containing the command. The Command Arriving at the server. The server interpreting the
command and sending it to all the computers in the battle room and then those computers
have to calculate everything based on the information giving. Plus all the other packets
of Info causing everything else to have even a longer delay.

Hence the 1 second since that is what I normally have. Broadband ftw nothing like a 80 ms
ping from Ohio!

Well, thanks for the answers everyone. It's not that big problem that I couldn't solve by
moving the guns little forward, but it is still... unusual. I don't think the lag is the
issue, because my km bb's work fine, no lag there, even my UK gun's don't lag.

I've pinged my server and the response time is ~195ms. This is normal at my internet
connection, and it was always around 190-200ms earlier too. But this delay is something
new. Oh well, I bertter get used to it.

@normpearii: I think that the calculation time is much more shorter than 1 sec, I think it
requires less time to calculate where the shells land, since it only depends on 3 things:
the angle, the gun (I think we can count ap/he shells as different types of guns at the
calculation) and the direction of shooting.

I usually experience increased lag when US eastern network sucks more than usual. The lag
for Europe mostly originates there.

The 1 second delay between hitting space and the guns firing is normal. Its so the game
can calculate the path the shell will take in flight and calculate the coordinates of
where the shells will land. Just aim slight more ahead of the ship your firing at.

I throw my modem and router up against the wall until it stops.

It happens from time to time in HA. The 3-second click lag makes it really....REALLY hard
to play a huge line battle.

the only thing to do is to predict where the ship is going, which will ultimatley make you
a better bb player.

This happens to me some days, doesn't happen other days. It's your connection to
the server. Not much you can do about it unless you can identify the network
segment where it's slow and put in a static route around it. But that takes some IP
foo.
