  • UK CV Line?

Alright, I'd worked my way up to Illustrious, crew all EBVE at level, and MN came out.
Is there any point to UK CVs anymore, unless you want to make a point of, "I'm
better than you, even with the worst CV line, ever?" Should I just acknowledge my
loss and try to sell or trade or is there anything worthwhile in continuing?

Torion, continue your UK cv line.

Reason why you should continue with your uk cv line.
1. it was your choice before MN came out.
2. you have reached cv4 level already.

Each nation is worth having.
Each nation has its strong points and weak points.
Learn to play your nation. Capitalize on your strong points and know the limitations of
your nation.

cheers!

Ok, 'straight' answer,

The bomber's (read TB in the main) ability to sink things is decent. Obviously it's not
the same as MN's as MN hasn't been balanced for the NA servers (they were a direct
import from NFKR, hence the higher damage to counter the lack of things like an SD
cap).

The TB's are a force to be reckoned with, however now everyone is packing lots of
bulge now because of subs you need to watch closely as to what ship is low on
bulge/no bulge and attack them.

The DB's are the worst in the game, however they're still good enough to sink/cripple
an enemy CV of a similar tier with a full wave, you just won't be BB-busting with
them, thats the TB's job.

The fighters at higher level are more than competitive, mainly due to the durability
than anything else, being able to take more shots to kill you is what keeps the UK
fighters in the game, you aren't fast enough to click-spam away, things like IJN and
US will eat you if you try it too much, however the ability to take an enemies hits and
punch them out with your own is just as valuable as KM's 1-shot appeal. The bomber
ability adds another buffer to the durability aspect and transforms them into little
flying tanks at the higher levels due to the increased bomber ability (which is one of
the reasons why they were used regularly in NFAFL as they are effectively armoured
scouts).

I added the support and chassis as, to be honest, UK CV's are the hardest CV's to
kill. The +2 to Restore and Repair on *ALL* sailors means that you reach 900SD
relatively quickly, and, if a repairman or two is added, means that, at CV5+ level you
can shrug off hits that would cripple a carrier of the same class, which is a BIG
advantage. If you're hard to one-shot, you can stay 'in the game' longer and
continue to help your team (especially valuable if you're a high-level CV)

I am undoubtedly aware that lower levels get owned, obviously. That is not the
question. The question was to whether or not I had anything to look forward to, as
far as a 'good' cv was concerned. I clearly understand your side of the issue, sir.
Clearly :) I thank you for your feedback, though the question wasn't entirely
answered first go-round, as ship stats don't persuade me, only the ability of the
bombers and fighters onboard.

The Seafires offensive power is as good as the Corsair and Sam.
Add in that little bit of durability and you'll see how it does well at high levels (which
you're not at yet).

ALL CV's are harder to use at lower levels, especially as it's a level based PvP game.

They're actually the worst fighters, from an offensive standpoint. Good hulls and
support...ok, so once I'm cornered I can take a few more shots. Good TBs..compared
to KM/IJN/US...but MN has them beaten about 4 times over. So I suppose if you
want a mildly balanced CV crew with no real advantage it's fine.

No, you're right.
Just quit UK now as there's no point to levelling them.
good TB's, good CV hull's, good support and some of the best fighters are
*OBVIOUSLY* no reason for carrying on.

Hell, i dunno why i went to Midway as they are so bad...

I got some mid 80's FP's and can pwn quite often, you need to learn fighter micro well too to
pull off a lot of kills around this level. (though doesnt mean you should not micro whatever
level!)

If you got illustrius you must to have about 75 lvl, so then you have late t2 or early t3 FT.
They are bad on that level it's true, but starting from 90 level they are gonna be
comparable with others and better with any next level. At +100 lvl only KM (at similar
level)will be able to match with them. So at high level you will have best/second fighters
and second torpedo bombers, is that so bad?
MN have best bombers and worset fighters. As you know fighters are more important nowdays.

Epic, maybe...against what? Not against anything at level. While UK FPs have the
most durability they have the worst offensive ability. UK DBs are the worst, hence
why I have none. And finally, UK TBs which, were the best, were replaced by MN
which are about 4x better. Seems as if there is no benefit at all anymore
