Okay, sorry I couldn't help myself. *Punches self hard*

Anyway, first off you got to stop using Auto. Use manual FCS and to some extent in case
you want more spread, finder FCS. The one thing you'll love mostly about USN AA is it's
versatility(can attack ground aand air targets by just a flick of the Y key) and played
with the right hands, can be an effective reaper on bombers as opposed to KM AA which is
more of a scout sniper (actually the IJN Yammie takes this to the core but their GA is
really horrible for everything else.)

The Reload gunners are where it's at. The actual AA Gunners are duds.

Generally you want more reload than accuracy; save the blockshots for your REAL main
gunners. There's a guide here by LordKelvin regarding AA. I recommend you give the red
guidelines a try. They will become very useful when advanced CV players would want to buzz
over your ship and try to avoid your AA that way. Make them regret it.

I use the Atlanta and the level 18 3"/ 70 cal Mark 23 D. At the moment im using my higher
level gunners and putting my rel gunners in the other slots on the ship to level until
they can class at 42 or something.
Auto AA'ing is extremely hard, i have tried and only damaged planes.

Manual is the only way to successfully shoot down a plane with your guns. Just go to
trainworld.us and click on naval guns and then your respective nation and search for your
guns. The golden angle is the 'normal' angle in that list and is what you want your guns
to be set at alot of the time. You can find all this info here http://www.nf-guides.com/
under Guide: Anti Air Gunnery.

Go to great battle 2 to learn and practice your AA skills chasing scouts everywhere. Once
you get the hang of moving your guns around manually and you have them set to the golden
angle it will be alot of fun :)

I hope this helps.

*pokes the phat one with a 6"/47 equipped Brooklyn* (Or for true insanity, a 6"/47 L and
5"/38 Mk 38 D equipped Cleveland)

For that matter, at low levels (DD/CL), US AA is one of the best, while IJN is one of (if
not the) worst. KM is good in most situations. >_>

US does have good AA - it's solid in all respects. High damage, fast reload, decent
spread, available at low levels, and can carry anti-ship shells. They only lack superduper
range - but then, that would make it overpowered.

To AA effectively, you need manual/Aiming FCS - it's due to the "golden angle", the
angle (and therefore altitude) at which your AA shell flies that will allow the shell to be
at the same height as aircraft at default/max height, and thus hit and explode. If you
use auto, every time you click to rotate your turrets, you're also probably changing the
angle of the gun, which messes up your golden angle.

USN AA gunners suck, they arent good at rld or acc,use rld or acc instead, and i dont
think the usn aa gunner's aaw mean anything in making them good at aa,so use acc

i used auto on aa guns and could only get like 5-8 shots from it. although if found a way
to adjust the angle in auto, i will try manual.
