Once again, I fully agree with denara...8 inch guns on a bb is actually scary fail,
blocking makes no difference if you do not have the range to take out targets. Also...if
you want to use the 8 inchers just use a ca on one of the lines, you'll do almost as well,
but you won't take up a bb slot once you start playing in GB's. I say almost only because
of the dp difference between ca's and bb's.

Your advice is bad because of the following:

"you can block with the trip 8s and if u sneak in close possibly do serious damage"

First you told him to use the 8" guns on a BB. now you are telling him to sneak in close.
If he is going to use a BB he should take the time to learn the proper guns and angles.
Secondly he shouldn't be trying to "sneak in close" He is a BB not a Fubu os Sima trying
to rush in and drop a torp wall. He should be concentrating on using his range advantage.

Like I said already. I went both lines and farmed Blitz rooms until I was capped out
using two sets of gunners. You do not need elites like I had, you just need common sense.
If you're in a CL or above, you shouldn't be rushing anyways. Stay back and pick off the
ships that rush into range one by one. This also means you never seldom have to worry
about getting torped.

1) You can't use 8" guns in GB/GB2. (Not sure about select mode)

2) While the triple 8s are a moderate threat DPS-wise for BB1s, do bear in mind that the
proper BB guns have a much heavier broadside and much longer range.

Norm is right... some of the advice in this thread is downright "I play nothing but Blitz,
hope I don't hit level 61" nub advice.

To echo a piece of Norm's advice... stick with it. Unless you have super-epic gunners like
Compass, it won't matter which line you go with. You'll hate your spread, you'll hate that
you can get one-shotted, and you'll hate that you get fighter camped.

AA and speed will play a large role in whether you are helpful, or expendable to your team
in GB 1 or 2. It will not be until late BB3 that you will find that all your work and
early planning payed off, and you are ahead of the game.

Aiming is the easy part..... If you manage to learn how to manage your speed, and take
advantage of the USN's AA guide lines to hit planes above and below the Golden Angle...
you will be a true force to be reckoned with.

So... stick with it.

Terrible advice from 40% of the people in here.

Listen to the ex-mod. Do both lines and get a full BB6 crew now while you can so you don't
hit 120 and realize "Crap I'm short a sailor =.="

If you can't get elites 12/11s are good.

Even though the Alaska/Guam has 9 12" guns compared to the Nevada's 10 14" The 12" Ls due
to the 45 degree angle do MORE damage per salvo than the Nevada's 30 degree 14s. The Guam
speed caps with no engys @ 45 knots (WOOT). The Nevada takes a bit to speed cap.

Playing a BB in blitz does not train you in anyway how to play in any proper room type.

Play GBIIs learn from your mistakes and even if you think the ships suck. Wait til you get
to BB3+ Thats when the US Line becomes enjoyable.

The advice from the following people is terrible and not usable:
hachioji
bleachrulezz
TheBLITZ6794
kendizle117

Everyone else has usable advice in their replys.

I forgot to mention when I was going through Blitz I used my Acc gunners for one BO and my
Reload gunners for the other BO. Thats what I meant with letting you stay in there twice
as long. Otherwise, if you only use one set of gunners for both BO's you will be capped
out a lot sooner.

Whatever you do, don't listen to the advice TheBLITZ6794 gave you. I would suggest
gettting a full Nebraska BB crew (14 sailors in total) and make two seperate BO's.

That is what I did and it let me play through Bltiz twice as long farming ships and
leveling all of my support sailors. I went with the following crew:

2x BO
2x Elite Acc gunners (main)
2x Elite Rel gunners (AA)
3x Elite Repairers
5x Elite Engineers
1x scout

All of my support sailors and two BO's were level 60 except for one support who was 58
when both sets of my gunners hit level 61 capping me out of Blitz. Using two seperate
BO's I got to play both BB lines and see what ships I liked best. It also gives you lots
of time to learn your angles. Note, you might not be able to get a full elite crew but
this does not matter. Once you get close to 1600 accuracy ability (level 55-60) you
should be blocking with the 8" triple guns in either the Baltimore or New Orleans line.

As long as you take your time and prepare for the future (Nebraska) you will be well ahead
of the game. Also, don't be afreaid to read the guides and take your time.
