my suggestion is to make you pay for special features instead of paying for the full game. to give an example make members(players who pay) get 2x or even 3x as much xp and creds than free users(players who don't pay duh) or make players who pay use special fcs or engines wich are better than the ones for free users. this would be great because some people(like me ) who like the game arn't very happy with it going retail, but this way we(free users) can still play but we would be in a big disadvantage over members.

remarks pls.

I like the idea as long as the paying people don t get too many advantages.
Also a lot of the players are kids and can't pay to play. so the amount of people playing will drop and the will want more and more money to keep the game alive they can have ads in the battle room and harbor to create some income but not put it in the game mode and i would have no problem with that.

I think that if you have the resources to purchase in game credits and points you should be allowed to do that... not all of us have 60 hours a week to put into this game.
Should only people who dont have lives beyond navy field be allowed to have the surperiour equipment?
Essentially what you end up creating there is an environment domniated by young children and retired, disabled, or jobless people.
Allow those of us with jobs to pay by credit card AND to purchase credits for our ships. Perhaps even the ability to purchase sailors and vessles with real money to a point... im not saying buying a BB on your 1st day of play.. but maybe the ability to purchase a ship up to the CA's.

yeah I prefer that we dont give people the advantage of paying more to get more; games should be about skill, not how rich someone is in real life.

to thread started: we have already discussed this idea at a meeting and after some thoughts we realized it has too many bad things.

thank you for your suggestion still.

Babs out!

I still think a monthly fee is a bad idea, a one off fee is much better. What about a combination, buy the game and you get a year subscription then and there. Next year you have to pay a fee. Having paying and not-paying customers simply won't work and will, IMHO, bring out the hackers and cheaters out.

I do think this idea is neither fair nor approprate. A monthly fee is not that bad, and with the payment methods that are already known it should be easy for anyone that wants to play.

Hope this helps

I think if they charge for retail they shouldnt charge to play the game or buy special features. If they sell for it say 50.00 dollars (US). That would be good, for those of us who already have it we can purchase a license for it through the NF website, while still keeping everything we have earned to date. Any thoughts on this one

Although other games provide 'Members' and 'Free play' ideas (example, www.runescape.com), I find that they are very unfair.

By having 'Special Features' that can be unlocked by paying, you are favouring those people who have less money in real life.

An online game shouldn't be there for the richer people in Battlecruisers to mock those who can't afford to get their 'Special Features' and therefore are having to grind much more slowly.

I can understand people wanting a 'free' side to the game, but giving advantages to people have more cash seems morally wrong to me, although i'm sure many game developers don't mind - Cash is Cash ?
