I've seen battles where ships run over each other to get that 'critical shot'. More often these ships are 'accidentaly' TK-ed by an onroute volley of a bigger one.
My suggestion: When enemy ships 'collide', have them loose half their DP they have at that time. As for allied ships, have them bounce of of eachother (boing sound? lol)
what is your view on this?

I think this would be a good part to NF as it would add to the realism. It would cause players to work together alot more as hitting each other would pose hazardous

just think about this. When you have the big battle. I mean 45 to 50 on each team, your going to run each other over, there is no way around it.

Don't be a rammer!! Well, I think the TK'ng problem was fixed pretty well. As I remember that problem had seen its day in earlier versions when ppl actually got sometihng gor tk'ng. Now you dont..thank goodness. I still like the idea a little, it just would be very hard in the beginning of the battle.

As i remember it, ship collisions were tried in an earlier version of NF. From what i've heard, it just resulted in a massive pile-up at the start of the game.

thnx. warnings are already discussed in other threads, so I made no mention of them here, but something like 'proximity alert' would be nice (for those caught in the battle at their max range).... and the ability to switch that alarm on/off would even be better

And as for the start of a game: have collisiondamage only appear when the ships have already dispersed (like 30 secs)

Meh. Theoretically, this would be a nice feature, but I'd see half of a team nearly dying, at the very start of matches. I think the random people you play with are too unreliable to have a collision system.

If they were to add collisions then yes there would have to be a warning to tell us of an impending collision with another ship... Otherwise you would have half your team with half DP because of the collisions. A warning would have to be installed for this, if it was added... But I do like the idea...
