people claim that more than 4 is a waste, but they are the ones with 4 high level engis
and 1 low level which gimps everything up.

1 engi = 100.0% = 100 x 1 = 100%
2 engis = 70.7% = 70.7 x 2 = 141%
3 engis = 57.7% = 57.7 x 3 = 173%
4 engis = 50.0% = 50 x 4 = 200%
5 engis = 44.7% = 44.7 x 5 = 224%
and so on

for OH time at lvl 90 +12 bve engis

1 engi = 22 seconds
2 engis = 44 seconds
3 engis = 1 minute 6 seconds
4 engis = 1 minute 28 seconds
5 engis = 1 minute 50 seconds

at lvl 120

1 engi = 44 seconds
2 engis = 1 minute 28 seconds
3 engis = 2 minute 12 seconds
4 engis = 2 minute 56 seconds
5 engis = 3 minute 40 seconds
6 engis = 4 minute 24 seconds
7 engis = 5 minute 8 seconds

**each engy gives repair

at lvl 120 BVE
with 7 engy (+10 in repair) you will get about 110 hp/s
with 3 rep (+12) you will get about 125 hp/s


235 hp/s from just your supports - 280/s is the cap - add more vets and the cap is easy to
reach. When you have rep cap with 3 reps, a 4th is a waste of a slot.

** after lvl 80-90 a restorer is useless, level an engi instead

if your casual player, 4/4 is OK and is pretty good for bb4 ish level but if your
seriously aiming for bb6 and can spend $ on the game, then 3 reps - 5 engi - 2 aa
or 3 reps - 7 engi will be the way to go

its better to have 1 rest to make your ship more strong and untouchable ^^.....

In short:
Restorers mainly add restore abilities.
Every sailor contributes to restore ability.
Restore abilities is your soft defense.
A crew full of well raised engineer and repairers will let you hit the 900 soft defense cap
even without restorers.
So why waste a precious repairer or engineer slot for restorer?

There is nothing wrong with rest they reduce the damage you take i would say

REST :2
SCOUT :1
GUNS:2

I don't play U.S. that much anymore but I think I used a 4 Engineer 4 Repair Support
Crew. Now, depending on what kind of crew your running with, this is the most reliable
settup for me as I hit the Soft Defense and Speed Cap at around LVL 90. If you read
any (Respectable) Engine Repair Guide for US its said that your Engineer ability starts to
diminshes after 4-5 Engineers.

P.S. For KM I used 5 BVE Engineers (At LVL) With my "douch"land as a test and found I
that I was chasing down DDs and Screwing them. Go figure.

3 reps, rest engy

engys add both OH time and repair, you will reach the rep cap with 3 so why add more ? and
if you want to reach it sooner then just put more vets on :/

Engineers are more important than repairers until you can hit the OH speed cap IMO.
Afterwards, it's a bit debatable. And given the intriguing possibilities of being able to
hit both the OH speed and repair caps on a few ships at very high levels, I have
difficulty faulting people for running slightly rep heavy. (Despite my silliness with 6
engineers)

But anyway, why bother with a Restorer when Engineers provide just as much repair ability,
another *very* useful ability, and you will cap out on SD without a restorer somewhere in
the BB3-BB4 range?
