Change your guns from the 14" D to the 14 " L, keep with the LHE ammo and use aiming FCS. Ise is a BB that preys on opportunities ( like all low lvl BB really), don't try to be the main BB, but support and take your chances. When a game starts don't rush ahead, instead let the north and south battle lines form up. After the lines have started to form, start following 1 of the lines but stay a little bit further back. Shoot stuff that comes down the middle or gets too far ahead of the enemies lines. But keep position nearish the middle, don't go too far north or south and don't take any risks until you've got some attack on the counter. When you're unscouted or 1 of the enemy lines has extended itself too far ahead of the rest come down on them. It's not unusual for an overextended line to only focus on ships that are east/west of them and neglect enemy ships ( or the fog of war) that may be south or north of them ( good players don't usually make that mistake).
If you do die, don't leave the game immediately but watch what others do. See what they do ( positioning, movement patterns, scouting, target selection, etc) , if it's succesfull or not, figure out why it's (un)succesfull. Pay special attention to ppl that single handedly keep an entire flank under control ( or kill it), especially if they're in a lower tier BB. Learn all you can and try to apply it all yourself. Don't neglect to practice your shooting, doing everything right but failing to hit anything will still leave you with little attack and little xp. Spend a few hours in the BB missions getting a feel for each gun at various ranges, especially for near the max range.
