Since you are new, I'll give you a rough summary of the BBs of each nation, as far as I can observe and roughly recall from each nation's guides.
RN is the beginner's choice. They can Armor whore. Excellent support crews. Double damage makes up and forgives misses but just really expensive to maintain (not a big deal in the long run.). You could expect them to charge in first and either come on top, or leave them wounded for awhile, then come back for some more. Some complain that their AA stinks but trust me, real skilled RN players know how to use the pompoms. There is hardly a BB you won't like here.
KM is for skilled and elite but very tough to hang. Mostly hit-and-run is the way to go but their AA is the best (and hence they are popular as the expert/vet factory.). Terrible armor. The Kaiser has a legendary reputation of being king of the BB-only room.
US is well-balanced--can be well-armored or equipped with good AA but it very much depends the BB line you're on.Their monty is a popular one-shot killer. They also come in a variety of delicious BB flavors before they all merge to Iowa. Most of the ships however suffer range. You will struggle with the Alaska alot.
IJN BBs are a little somewhat awkward playstyle. The Yammies having delayed shells often leads them to be defensive play but when those shells land, they are gonna hurt like hell even with deck armor. One of their BBs can even launch planes like a CV and their AA is specialized to take out scouts at a distance before being seen. Support crews are worst. You could even ditch AA for torps since this is the torp whore nation (and let's face it, their AA and even AAW stinks save for the Yammie's)
MN's BB are just recent but as far I've observed, their BBs are like sniper rifles; powerful as RN's but very limited ammo. Most of their early BBs are bite-sized but slow, almost sacrificing just about everything for pure offense. They are often played as surprise attackers and had been commented as a hybrid of US and IJN ships.
