I've found many BB1s in blitz couldn't hit the broadside of a Hood unless they were in close range, and even then it's iffy.
BB1s, for the most part, have shitty accuracy (unless they've got some premium, vet loaded accuracy gunners).
heck, I've been in there with a UK Revenge myself and couldn't swat a fly at long range.
BB1s often aren't armoured like they are in GB games, you swarm them, they go down.
any CA with dual or trip 8" guns, or even a PCL with the same "can" take a BB1 in a 1 on 1 fight. I've done it from both sides.
as for balance, that's another crock of shit. I've seen a team with the 1 CV and 2 out of 3 BBs in the game on it, get annihilated, or at best an even game.
yes, sometimes the BB makes a difference, other times, it's as useless as the rest of the team. the same goes for CVs. some are affective, some aren't.
in the end, balance really doesn't mean shit in Blitz games as it does in GB games. and even then, crappy players all on one team, no matter how even, or stacked it is tends to swing things in a very one sided slaughter of a win.
I'll take any ship from an FF01 to CA and I see a BB I'm going for it. BB in blitz = good xp for the smaller ships, even if they get sunk by it.
now for the fun part. if you do take BBs and/or CVs out of blitz, you'll also have to take out the PCAs with the same heavy guns, and the hybrid CL & CA carriers like the oyodo/mogami out.
what's next, complaining because the PCLs are too tough of a nut to crack? or that damned FF or DD moves too fast to hit?
