I'm 2 days into my Colorado and love it. I tried the AK/Guam's...and hated them with
a passion. No range...(missing fingers so manual is out) and can't AA as well as I'd
like. So I bought a Sevasti to grind past them. It was ok...but I LOVE THE COLO!

If the SoDak is even better, I'll grind to in in the Colo. IT's a good ship w/dual 16's
and has enough hitting power to damage most ships (RN not so much...), and while
itls a bit slow, I get by. It's the first ship I feel comfortable on the battle line with.
At least I can edge out fire a salvo and edge back while the Iowa's and other BB4-
5's take the pounding.

On the other hand...in the final pursuit, it can be SLOWwwwww...but that's an issue
with most of the Standards. But I'll stick w/the Colo and use my P'Cola/Sevasti to
grind up the other line until they hit the Tenn.

I'm surprised LK hasn't jumped all over this yet. People who tend to lvl through the
sevas to the Iowa instead of through the colorado and then sodak don't learn some
much needed BB tactics. As many here have said already, hit and run, but sevas
just kind of seems more like a crutch if you don't already have some good BB
experience down. I will pull one out every once in a while for fun since it's my lowest
lvl BB, but otherwise if you want to be an asset to your team when you hit Iowa,
hold out through the horrible, long road and you'll end up thanking yourself in the
end.

I disagree with using sodak for training to drive iowa. I have both us BB lines and prefer
the north cal over sodak. If played right, the iowa can be a line fighting BB. That is the
way i played it and was able to grind through the iowa faster than any other grind to date.

Yes well the sodak's spread may be Crap , but heres the thing, once you learn to
manage that god horrible spread, its a battlefield nightmare. As I said earlier, its
training for the Iowa ;D


PS the last time I checked, my sodak went 28/47

Because it doesn't solve the accuracy problem and on top of that it causes new ones:

You have less range than a SoDak

You have less speed than a SoDak

You aren't as durable as a SoDak

You can't hit and run as well in Colorado

I feel the same way about the SoDak's accuracy but I'm struggling through it just because
I can and I like the range advantage it has over Seva and Colorado.

Range is life.

why not just put the "mini-monty" setup on the colorado?

i like the sodak for its speed, but i get bad spread when i use those guns
gunners are lvl 102 btw 11/12 acc/rld/acc

also, my colorado goes 26/42 =D

assuming you do the same atk killing the same big ships.

sevas- lvl 80 crew gets less exp, but its made up from the bonus shooting other bbs since
ship level is low(61)
colo - you get about at level exp, but less from shooting bb3s and bb4s

like what was said about, what do you do better in?, Theoretically, you'd get the most in
a sodak since its a bb3....sooo, depends on the ship you can do the most damage in, where
you can make a difference on the outcome of the game.

ps, please use the right CV engine for sodak. too many ppl cruise at 24 knots and its
ruining the ship. ty

OMG NOT LIKE THE SODAK???? You got to be kidding me....The sodak is a good, fast
ship with hard hitting guns, if you plan on skipping it and going straight for an Iowa,
you'll be a horrible iowa player. The South Dakota is the Best training you can get for
playing an iowa later on in-game. The sodak is one of the best BB3s in-game, if not
the best.

To play the Sodak, you'll have to use your speed advantage to get into range, shoot
off a good salvo at the enemy, then run like hell to ge tout of the enemy's range.

In order to use the sodak properly you will have to repeat this many times. Once
you get the hang of it, BB4s and below become your food. If you have skill and a
good crew, everything is prey.

*Btw* Much like to sodak, the iowa is not a line fighter, you will have to weave in
and out of the battle lines to get kills.
