  • IJN CV Nerf/...Un-nerf(?) Discussion

Hey there

I was thinking over the weekend, every other nation(i believe, not too sure about MN) has
1 cv line and 2bb lines yes? Well it seems to me that would obviously point to IJN being a
cv-based nation which would theoretically have superior CVs or Aircraft, no?
Now as far as i'm aware, we have fairly fast be very weak fighters and average DB and TB,
and non of our aircraft are particularly...structurally reliable (they tend to go down
very quickly), as well as the range not being too good(i suppose the payoff for speed).
Well i can deal with the low health part, but surely our fighters should have a better
attack power and health? and our TB's, as a nation regarded as being good for torps should
be more powerful? Now i'm not too disappointed with the DB power but again i think a bit
more health could be better.

Just quickly my IJN background, currently playing the Junyo line, at Taiho, although i
prefer to use the Unryu because not all of my pilots are at t3(ftr) or t2(db+tb) level. I
have played the hosho line, but i got quickly bored and used a B.O. Reset to junyo as soon
as i was at the right level.

So what're your views on the subject?

Thanks

Mike

It's my belief that fighters are capped based on level (though I have no proof) similar to
the way accuracy works for gunners. I don't think the cap is too hard to hit and likely
reachable by level 100 for most pilots with decent base/vets.

Pre T4 patch, the US T3 fighters were the hardest to take down, but I haven't played my CV
much then to come to any strong conclusion about T4s.

Our fighters have the best speed and fuel.

IE thay are at par with USN Mary Sue fighters in those departments.
IJN DB damage is second only to MN (20% difference because noone wanted to modify MN
aircraft and bomb/torp stats from NFKR... even now noone learned a thing and copy pasta'd
MN PCV mindlessly from NFKR giving it 12 launch space and making MN CV6 redundant).

IJN has many CVs and starting s CV crew as IJN is far easier thanks to Oyodo and Mogami
Remods.
A easier start is a perfectly fair tradeoff for having a crippled endgame... right?... RIGHT?

Also note that while IJN has "Big variety of CVs" it is the USN that has "Great CVs" so...
its Quantity agaist Quality it is only fitting for USN to win in that match up.

You just have to Conform and understand one thing. This is nfNA and NA stands (mostly) for
USA. And that means american ships have to be better as a bonus for patriots that took the
right decision when picking the nation.
Remember: Real MEN roll USN.

PS: Yes. It is sickening but what can you do?
At least we got same speed so running from USN fighters is a bit easier than for RN for
example. IJN fighters can run and scout till they are out of fuel but RN fighters will die
sooner when USN catch up.
