Your options are:

1. Grind the SS1, most people dont like this option and choose to do it another
way.

2. PCL - Get one and use it until you are able to get an SS2, or even grind it
until you can get an SS3

3. Stay in the ship you had before the SS1. This is not as good as option 2 as
the experience gain is lower than the PCL.

4... none that I am aware of off handed...
