  • Stick with Yubari or go with Agano?

Currently i have a level 29 Bo, 1 Yubari, and 160k credits.
I am debating whether to use my Yubari to grind to level 39 for the Mogami, or get
the Agano and then grind for Mogami.
Any suggestions?

6" triple is difficult for learning manual...how about wait till 8"(=Mog CA or Myoko)?

I started manual in BC and it worked well though. Manual fcs under CA is way different
from BB actually.

Practice. A low threat environment (eg: some of the missions) may help. Depending on
what aspects are giving you trouble, so may low angle guns.

Yeah, just stick with manual you'll learn to love it.

just keep playing manual...its gonna be hard for the first week or 2 but in the long run
its worth it...auto is almost useless in anything over a bb1

@Asagi: Except the Yubari is slimmer, has a better cruise (though not overheat) speed, and
can also carry scouts. Also, whether or not the Agano has more guns is setup dependent,
and the heavier broadside tends to be offset by the lower rate of fire.

@Sea_Admiral: learn manual now. The Yubari (especially with 5.5s) would tend to be a more
forgiving ship for it. And yes, the dual 6" Ls are the largest guns that fit on the ship.
I would consider the limited ammo (and weight to an extent) to be prohibitive, though.

The Yubari in my opinion has a pretty good spread, at near max range it gets bad
though. I use auto FCS and the guns can fire past the green lines.
I mainly use the Yubari in mid range, and i currently mount four 6"/50 Type 41 L's
with 100 shells each gun, although according to the website i have bigger guns
available but too heavy for this ship.
I am currently training 2 AA crews instead of torpedoes.

Get the Agano. More and stronger guns, shorter which means it can dodge torpedoes easily, and can
carry scouts, which is crucial to your teammates

I'm partial to at least trying out every ship I have access to. That said...

Can you mark Yubari shells (well, 5.5 L with LHE/AP) at max or near max angle? The Agano
if correctly setup will have more range, higher angle guns, and a worse FCS. making
aiming is very non-trivial.

Additionally, how's your spread, especially at max angle? The dual 7.9s will be worse
than the Yubari (more range, fewer shells, worse FCS), while the triple 6.1s will be more
comparable (and perhaps better at higher levels) due to the greater shell count and the
accuracy revision on the N/D versions.

How do you feel about torpedoes? While the Yubari can clearly benefit from them, the
effect on the Agano is mixed.
