if your wandering how you can be more effective and play a more defineing role in a battle and benefit your team more, then here is a few oppinionated ideas.
first off you need to understand other players.
battle ships only carry recon planes, these are worthless against anything else in the sky and they only carry 4 max maybe 5.
so if they have such poor tools for sight surely that means a cv is invaluable on the field of battle yes!! thats right your fighters are a bb players best friend.
if your fighters are good and can hold their own simply take out enemy fighters blinding the enemy battle ships, the emphasis is on blinding the enemy not racking up xp for your self. make sure the enemy cannot see your battle ships, this is impotant for obvious reasons.
if your fighters suck or your low level and cant take anything on, never fear your planes still fly and can avoid being shot down if you micro manage them. for example keep clicking your planes away from enemy planes while flying them around enemy battle ships, this is called dragging. high level cv players dont like it cause they cant shoot your planes down, but your bb's will love you. and at the same time tak out all enemy scouts and bombers you can find.
playing a cv isnt all about being better than your oppenents fighters, its about out witting him. being smarter, being diffrent and improvising to impossible situations.
its a fact that as a low level cv player your planes are inferior by a massive margin compaired to cv players of higher level. its just obvious, so do not dispare. adapt improvise and overcome!
starting off with bombers is a good for blitz, every one uses bombers in blitz. but as soon as you get to great battles your going to be found wanting. fighters are your teams life line they are your teams eyes and they are your teams defence. with out fighters your not much of a cv.
if your getting hammered, do it over enemy ships not your own teams ships. reason is your team can see who is hammering you and try to even the odds and when your planes fall out the sky they have a chance to crash into enemy ships causing all important dmg.
how i play is like this.
i play a premium cv, with 6 fighters and 2 torp bombers. i have roughly 80 fighters and about 30 tb's ill use fighters from the start all the way untill we have the edge and start to win, at this point i switch to tb's and start racking up some attack.
it doesnt allways work because their is always a bigger fish that happens to be just that little bit better than you are and have better crews.
a cv is a support ship your role in my oppinion is to make life easier for your entire team to the best of your abilities as a cv player.
you should endevour to keep your battleships in full vision for as long as possible although you do not have to!! its entirely upto you. bb players are far more appreciative of cv players who know how to play cv in a team.
if you do start to bomb make sure you take out priority targets. like ships that cause the most hassle - i.e. subs. kita's. bomber whore cv's amd bb6 and bb5, these are what i call priority targets
remember if you see enemy bombers, do everything in your power to take them down before they destroy a battle ship.
if you loose your battle ships you loose the game! battle ships rely on being able to see what they are shooting. if they cant see it they cant hit it.
the first thing i did straight out of blitz was to aquire as many fighters as i could despite their qaulity, it wasnt to be a fighter whore, it was to be a scout whore. useing fighters to scout is very effective. it matters not how good they are for this you can always upgrade them to +12's maybe even elites at a later date. the aim is to improve your odds of winning battles. if you win a battle you get more or less double the xp from a loss if you do well sometimes tripple. remember crappy cheap fighters are a means to an end and can be upgraded as you go.
and thats all you really need to know about cv's. you will learn your own tricks and stuff as you go.
so if your battle ships cant see!! you loose!! its that simple.
