If you're forming an escort ship for AA, a DDX is a cheaper option. Either way, the 3"70
mk23N guns are a better option for the AI, because it's bad at aiming and needs the
increased rate of fire to score hits.

And make sure to drop a sonarman on board so you can see subs (CL) or see them at greater
ranges (DD). They may not be able to shoot at them, but if you can see them coming, you
can avoid the worst from them... or at least make them use a ton of ammo before you go
down. =)

remod the atlanta to juneu, it losses its turret wings though, but u gain more ammo. u
dont need speed on a AA escort, coz they dont OH. besides, if those escorts can run as
fast as u, ull probably TK it and lose XP in the process. :)

I'm partial to the Brooklyn for mixed AA/ASW (the 6"/47 duals offer a rare combination of
good range and firepower, and the T-slots hold hedgehogs well). If you don't want to use
the 6"/47, the Atlanta (more barrels) or Omaha (more speed) would probably serve you better.

Atlanta:
First off I think that the Atlanta is a much better AA ship than the Omaha.
It has 12 barrels and can also be used as a HA (High Angle) ship when you out
grow AAing. The only problems with the Atlanta are the firing arcs (you can't shoot
broadsides when you are chasing or retreating from ships/planes) and the trouble
you can have when trying to face a target head on because of slowness.
Other then that the Atlanta is a great ship and one of the best CLs in the game.

Brooklyn:
The Brooklyn is reallly made to be a DD eater and not a AAer, so I think that going
with the Atlanta or even if you have to the Omaha is a better soulution than going
with the Brooklyn.
