What is the point of having more that one type of pilot on your CV? For Example: 2 Fighter
pilots.

If you have 2 fighters, while 1 of them is flying you can ready the second one and
can even fly them so you have more fighters on-air at 1 time.

Tripteez,

The point of having more than one type of pilot on your CV is to make your ship an
effective fighting machine. So many threads have explained this in detail.

To share with you, I have 16 pilots on my IJN line alone.
As to set up of pilots, it depends on my mission and who I am fighting against.
If for that day there is a cv player who has high level fighters, I come out with more
fighter pilots.
If after a few games, the high level cv player calls a friend and double up on me, I use 8
fighter pilots and let my team win.

But then again to share with you. It is not the number of pilots or the cv you are driving
that will make you win. These are what are important for becoming good in cv driving:
1. corect sailors to be made pilots
2. level up pilots correctly
3. learn tactics and strategy while in a cv1 and a cv2.
4. watch and observe good cv players
5. best if you have a good mentor

Simplest way to answer your question is to look at how many support slots you have on the
Shinano. You can run with 8 pilots. There for, you should be looking to the future as to
how may pilots you will want to run on a CV that large.
I carry 8 pilots on my CVs, I have 12 pilots. The configuration is classified, and
alters depending on what type of battle I am in.

you mainly want to run fighters and 1 kind of bombers.
Most IJN prefer DB, because we have the 2nd highest dmg on our bombs, and high
lvl db can hit anything a tb can hit, even on auto bombing (only exception are
submerged subs).

i run 6 FP and 2 db on my kaga(II). (i have 2 more db and 4 tb pilots, but running
only 2 bomber pilots works best for me, so you can focus on the fighters mostly)
You want to have several fighter squadrons to maintan a fighter screen over the
enemies bb's, if you have to few you will be shifting your pilots up & down, meaning
you will only light up the way to the bb's and not the bb's themselves.

this being said i run about 65 fp and 20-25 db

if you run tb and db at the same time you will notice that by half way into the battle
either one of you'r 2 bomber pilots will be doing nothing because the planes ran out.
(because you'd probably run around 50 fp 15 db 15 tb). This way you waste a
support slot, so that's why it isnt effective, second reason is the loading time.

the advantage of having more pilots of the same type is that you load your cv max
(say 9 planes) in 3 wings, instead of 1. so you spend the loading time for 3 planes
on 3 pilots paralell, still 9 planes in (3*8) 24 seconds. whereas on 1 pilot you'd need
to load all 9 in series results in (9*8) 72 seconds.

if you really wait for 72 seconds you fighters crash and your team will be blind.

as long as your in blitz all the fighters dont really matter to much, since most people
dont shoot past their sight. Therefor in blitz you can focus on sinking ships. (using a
lot of bombers is therefor a good tactic in blitz)

on the low Tier cv's you can cope with 4 pilots, going over cv2 you need a minimum
of about 6 and if you go cv4& higher you need the full 8 pilots.

cause if i are really intrested in cv (going above cv2) u need more pilots and u have
more slots to fill:)

Yes, it helps dramatically. You can load planes faster (eg: 2 groups of 3 instead of 1
group of 6), and while those planes are out, prep more waves of fighters/bombers on
additional pilots.

I have 1 Fighter pilot, 1 Torpedo Bomber pilot, and 1 Dive Bomber in training but I want
to know if I should have multiple Fighters and Bombers.

So you can have different planes? It's a bit obvious. Running only one type of plane
means your not too effective of a CV.
