How important are gunners on a CV? Do you really need a base of 11/11?

You must be kidding right? You never launch 8 planes on one pilot.. ever. You are contributing less for your
team and may even be the cause a loss. The first minute or two is the most critical point in the
game. Sitting loading planes will not be useful. At worst, you might get reported for leeching or get massively
bashed.

If your 4&4 idea is so smart why not launch 4&4 then 4&4?

Personally I go 3.3.3 then go 4:4. Fast enough to support my rushing pow and keep a hemishpere blind for
bb5 to push the line during the most critical point of the game.

Also a note on how to launch planes:

As you know it takes a long time to launch 8 planes. But when the battle starts
launch 8 as you have the time. Then when the get of the deck launch 4 & 4 in two
different slots

I play on the yorktown and put a repairer and restorer on the gunner slots to add
SD, then load as much bulge without losing 2 knots of speed

Plus I think they can man 5in singles

personally i just lvl extra pilots on my gunners slots. I know of a lot of people like to
use Headgehogs or AA, but it mainly depends on what cv you are playing. For example, the
yorktown would be near pointless with gunners. However, the lexington with guns can be
VERY useful in a cv war
