Explanation for Hackshield Issues

	To clarify the recent issues regarding this week's patch, we want to make a short explanation about the current situation. Unlike the descriptions in some topics, the developing company of Hackshield (AhnLab) is a reliable company, and it is one of the most famous company for online security in South Korea. Also, the Hackshield program is used in many other online games which are currently running service. Before adding this gameguard to our game, we discussed and tested for a long time. We also tried to check it on various OS environments, for the possibility of crash issues between the game and Hackshield. However during the test, it ran smoothly and effective so we finally patched it to the live servers this week. There were few issues during the tests, but we have managed to fix them before patching. However we do admit there still can be minor issues left. If you are having actual issues with Hackshield during your gameplay or by launching the game, please follow the process we have recommended in the patch note. If the issue persists, you can go through the following steps to give us a detail report. 1. Go to the game installed directory and find the following files in the /Hshield/ folder: - Hshield.log - Supdate.log 2. Also, we need Ahnrpt.cab file also, and in order to get this file, please check the below steps: 1)Run the ahnrpt.exe file (Gamefolder/Hshield/ahnrpt.exe) 2)You can get the Ahnrpt.cab file after click [report the error] in top-left corner. 3. Please send us the log files above to pass to our developers. You can attach the files via email and send it to [email protected] *If you cannot get ahnrpt.cab file, then please send us your Hshield.log and Supdate.log from gamefolder. We are currently monitoring the situation very carefully with our developers since it is a sensitive issue for us too. If it's actually causing a major issue, there is always the possibility to make a hotfix, so until then we want to ask to our players to make a detail report, that we can check the issue faster. Before adding this gameguard to our game, we discussed and tested for a long

If you are having actual issues with Hackshield during your gameplay or by launching
the game, please follow the process we have recommended in the patch note. If the

1. Go to the game installed directory and find the following files in the /Hshield/
folder:
- Hshield.log
- Supdate.log

2. Also, we need Ahnrpt.cab file also, and in order to get this file, please check the
below steps:
1)Run the ahnrpt.exe file (Gamefolder/Hshield/ahnrpt.exe)
2)You can get the Ahnrpt.cab file after click [report the error] in top-left corner.

3. Please send us the log files above to pass to our developers. You can attach the
files via email and send it to [email protected]

*If you cannot get ahnrpt.cab file, then please send us your Hshield.log and
Supdate.log
from gamefolder.

Ever since you installed this piece of garbage I have to use Task Manager to shut down NF. It locks when entering battle rooms. It completely messes up your log in attempts. And I know for a fact it is not my computer as I run daily scans and have continual protection. Hackshield is famous...for being a major fail program. And of course you are going to use a South Korean company. SD is South Korean. The majority of the gaming companies use PunkBuster. I will be honost. You folks need to concentrate on fixing the problems that you have chosen to ignore for years and stop creating new ones for yourselves. You are losing people because you are piling manure on top of manure. And you need to LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMER BASE. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS EVERYTHING. Take a suggestion..PULL YOUR HEADS FROM THE REAR AREA, BREATH SOME FRESH AIR, AND CORRECT THE PROBLEMS YOU HAVE BEFORE TRYING TO DO ANYTHING ELSE.

Whamo	The only "someone" that would backdoor your computer would be their company. If that were to happen I'm sure international pressure and criminal prosecution would be rained down upon them if that were to happen. Hackshield has been around for a while and I don't think it's caused apocalyptic problems with people stealing info. Hackshield is no more dangerous than when you go download that porno, or torrent anything. Hell, anything you download could be some virus that opens up blah blah blah.

Hackshield has been around for a while and I don't think it's caused apocalyptic problems
with people stealing info. Hackshield is no more dangerous than when you go download that

Relorian	@Whamo : I'd rather be paranoid than to have someone back door into my computer via a port that hackshield or similar software uses. And no, I havent encountered piss poor security of this measure before. I play games that keep everything on the server side and as such are a lot harder to "hack" and a lot easier to secure.

Whamo	Man, are people that stupid? You've probably played another game that used hackshield/any other program that does the SAME EXACT THING. It's not about to go steal all your super secret...seriously. Paranoid much? I'm sure a lot of your computers have many far greater problems and holes in their security then freakin' hackshield...

Relorian	I get a nice new gaming rig, figure "maybe the lag issues have been fixed" so I download NF and install it. Nothing mentioned Hackshield or the Rootkit it installs in the installer nor in the Updater. I did however get a nice warning with Avast! that the game is a Trojan and had to create an exemption for it (had I read this before I did this, I'd have pushed the delete button and been done with this crap. Sony got sued over a similar stunt as this... What the hell were you guys thinking? So my question is this: How do I go about uninstalling your Rootkit/Trojan? I realize you guys state you tested this out before you decided to unleash it on the community and destroy it further but you obviously did no such thing. Hell a simple google search shows that Hackshield is ineffective and a security threat. Coulda saved yourself a lot of time/money and customers had you done what millions of people can do every day from their cell phones and google searched.

gammatoy	and by the way...im just a fun loving guy and not an IT expert. im so tired of the solutions you make me do. i just wanna play and pay....have be happy and gay... nf is a nice and fun game but this time, the situation goes annoyingly unsatisfactory. save the day...

gammatoy	plz im losing exp and creds and time....coz all i do is chat in the wait room and play like a powerpoint presentor. then boom crashed! fix this please. a month like this will make me forget my nf investments and future nf plans and go play other games that dont crash and lag the crash and lag i experienced today.
