I decided to get a db just for the sake of it. I have 4 fp, 2 tb and 1db (all lvl 60+).
Even tho the db doesn't do much damage, it isn't that much different than what my
tbs do to a BB packed with bulge. In any case, I'm usually busy providing ft cover
(using short range F5Us for now since my Hurricanes got owned every time).

New medic question... does it need to be in a support slot or can it be in a gun slot
(Illustrious) and still be useful?

I run 3 TP and 2 FP on my attacker, mostly playing in blitz until I get the next CV up and
the boosted fighter compliment before I venture into GB2 games more brazenly.

I tend to send out 4 TP and keep a pair of F5U fighters hot on the deck to ward off
enemy bombers.

I've got 2 more fighter pilots and 2 more TP pilots in the wings training up with another
lower level crew as I can for later use.

I'm likely to stick to TP mostly, although I haven't decided yet on how much, if at all, I
want to go into DB as of yet.

medic, if it helps at all to keep your experts and such dying, it saves you a headache,
especially when you're losing planes like mad in a gb2 game. seaman? not going that
route myself but to each their own eh.

Well, besides releasing your torps early... not much can be done at-level.

Also, I run with UK dbs. Adding the 1500 lb. AS bombs actually does sink a ship. I don't
get the high damage from either MN or US dbs, it's just worth it when a bb5 keels over
from a UK db strike. ;)

Thanks... I'm training one more fp and a medic. I'll see how it goes on the attacker and
then decide what else I need. And I've read about UK db crew.. I'm just gonna have tbs
but they are easier to kill. Anyway to avoid that?

You should remember that you can have 8 pilots on a cv6, so 4fps and 2 tbs are not enough.
You should have a 4 fp 4 tb balanced, or a 6fp 2 tb FW combination. If you want you can
train more than 8 pilots, but only if you already have a BB line. My last advice is, do
not train UK DB pilots, cause they are the worst in bomb damage .

Before the removal of loss of vets due to plane shoot downs it was still questionable how
effective the medic was. Now a medic's purpose is to limit crew loss (experts and
rookies) as opposed to all crew loss on plane shoot downs (when it included vets).

How effective it is, really depends on who you talk to. In terms of my suggestion I would
say your better off with a different type of sailor, perhaps a seaman.
