friendly AA....

i am not suggesting we take out friendly fire, by no means. But that when i have 5
fighters attacking one enemy fighter, and a 4 gold bar friendly CL seeing one enemy plane
and killing all my fighters to get to it. i mean really, he should lose experience for that like
attacking his own team mate.

for non CV players, keep in mind loading fighters takes time, so having them in the middle
of the map then dying takes a while to get replacements out (if unplanned death) also my
CV doesn't get unlimited planes. so my bomber spec'd CV when losing 5 fighters is equal
to losing 42% of my fighter planes.

main suggestion: killing 1 friendly plane is equal to 10% exp/credit/point loss, this should
lower friendly AA (this means killing 10 friendly planes would result in no exp, and killing 3
would result in 70%) no matter which friendly plane is being shot down (ie.
fighter/scout/tb/db)

If your planes are in the vicinity of friendly AA ships they deserve to get shot down.
Learn to play, lower them and push out, dont dogfight over your own battleline.

"very nice plan , but 10% is pretty harsh for just 1 plane , i would say 5% instead of 10
, because
sometimes it just happens and its on accident. so if you down 20 freindly planes , you
will get 0 xp
and if you down more than 20 planes you get negative xp"

20 or more friendly planes its not an accident. Its on purpose or the player doesnt care
about your planes."Who cares.I ll get my xp either way"

Reccomended

I have been pondering this for a while. As a CV driver (currently Ms. Lexi) nothing is
more frustrating then sending a glorious wave of fighters out.... And watching some
caveman AA ship chew my fighters up, then look at me innocently and go "Moi?". I
personally think that they should lose a certain amount of credits for a TK plane kill.
75-125%(Not really decided on the number. I imagine we want a penalty, not a
crippling blow to new players) of the credits they would lose for shooting an enemy
plane of the same type (DB, TB, Fp, etc). Or instead, have the malicious AA ship lose
a vet if he happens to kill one of your beloved pilots. I don't think a exp loss is right
becuase...

1) Planes =/= ships. If you lose a ship, that is the end of that game for you. Losing
an airplane is inconvenient, but we DO have more.

2) Accidents do happen. I admit to hitting friendly planes a few times in my AA rig,
and bringing some down. As stated above. We want a penalty. Not a crippling move
that alienates our player base.

These are just a few thoughts, and I figured I could bounce them off the NF
community wall and work something out that works for both sides.

i too would like to see some kind of punishment for AA players who care not at what they
shoot, we canty go round tb'ing aimlessly into friendly lines to sink dd's with out
punishment so why should they get away with it..

As a CV, IJN BB, and AA player, I have seen both sides of this argument, and don't think
it is fair to use a blanket statement against AA users. Countless times, I have been
engaging enemy planes (DB, FP, TB...), when a CV will send a whole wave of FP into the
planes I am engaging, lose half their wave, then chew me out for friendly fire. On the
flipside you have BlackFrop: a CV that sends out a wave of FP and engages enemy
planes. An AA user joins the party late, and proceeds to shoot down the whole wave of
friendly fighters.

Overall, the penalty is too situational. This is why this will probably not get
implemented.

I am not reading all your stupid comments. I don't need to.

Stanley on the first page is correct. I am a CV player as well and I never run into this
issue, but I do still think this is a good idea for 2 reasons.

1. You are trying to do what a good CV player should do and the AA ship opens fire on your
planes as they fly by. Now yes, I avoid AA hotspots, but your not going to go completely
off the map to avoid a AA ship and you shouldn't have to. Make him more observant of what
is going on and keep him from opening fire on anything that flies.

2. Everyone in a GB is meant to have a job. Everyone is meant to contribute to the
victory. Like the thread starter stated. Everyone else gets punished for FF so should AA
ships.

how about something to make everyone happy:

friendly fire to planes does less damage (maybe 10% of full).

Can't the one shooting friendly planes get negative battle credit, while the one on the
receiving end of this treachery gets reimbursed a small amount?

I try to avoid TKing planes whenever possible, however there are times I put the
survival of a BB6 over that of fighters that aren't doing their job fast enough.
I shoot just enough to kill the bombers, but sometimes it's inevitable that 2-3 friendly
fighters may go down in smoke as well... But if it saves a frontline BB I feel that it's
worth it.
