Hehe, when i had the yammy, i dropped the AA guns and the rear gun. I was able to put
enough deck armor on to bounce a few shells here and there. It was actually really nice. I
would suggest giving it a try.

IJN armor setups should be similar to USN armor setups. In both nations, I would run 0.4
belt, at least 2-3 bulk head and maybe a little bulge. If you have 900 SD and a good rep
(as you can rep pretty high up after torp dmg), SS's shouldn't be much of a problem unless
it's a t3-4 ss. The bulk head helps you keep going after taking several hits.

jap deck is useless below 10 inches, and fighting anything other then KM above 35
degrees

anyway , you need only 0.2" belt armor to half torp damege , and some bulge without lose
speed . Yammy is a slow ship , you need more speed to survive .

0.5 belt and bulge. No deck please. Deck slow you down especially you with your new crew
and low level crew. Not high level crew. If you got good engies then yes you can put deck
and belt and bulge and even bulk >.<

.3-.5 belt .3-.5 deck and as much bulge armor without losing speed if you're good at
avoiding subs.

If not, max out the bulge to whatever speed you're comfortable with.
