Issue:

This has to be my greatest find fixing my own router to work with hackshield patch.
Problem was if I used router hackshield would not update and crash(verified with my
fleetmate's connection). If I've directly connect without the used of my router it
works. So this is the fixed I've found out after more than 2-3 weeks banging my head
in the wall.

Hope you guys can be able to fix like I did.


Errors:

- HSUpdate has stopped working (Windows Error Reporting)
- HackShield Error Code: 0x30000090



Cause:

Firmwares 1.0.03 through 1.0.07 for WRT100 and WRT110 appears to have
connections problems such as route traffic, no response to pings or HTTP requests
when connected to multiple computers. From thorough research, firmware version
1.0.02 build 34 appears to be the most stable. The Linksys Support page will NOT
provide older firmware, but I have the provided the download link in the steps below.
Please use at your own risk. I suppose the v91 patch updated the HackShield with
something related to these connection problems which is why it did not work with
later versions of MapleStory.



Solution:

Important: This fix will ONLY work for the Linksys WRT100 or WRT110 router. Please
confirm that your have either of these models in the Router configuration page at
http://192.168.1.1 before proceeding. DO NOT proceed if you do not have any of
these router models.

You must DOWNGRADE your router firmware to version 1.0.02 build 34. It is the same
procedure as upgrading your router firmware. Please make sure you know what you
are doing because flashing your router can also BRICK your router.



Therefore, please follow the steps carefully.

1) HARD reset your router(small red button behind the router) then go to
http://192.168.1.1 and "Restore to Factory Defaults" from Administration tab in the
Router configuration page. Default username: Pass: admin. OR admin for both.

2) Make sure you can still connect to the internet after STEP 1. If necessary, unplug
the power from your router or modem for 10 to 30 seconds and replug it. Reboot
your computer.

3) Download the version 1.0.02 build 34 firmware for WRT100/ WRT110.

4) Rename the BIN file to "code.bin"

5) Use Internet Explorer for the downgrade to prevent any browser compatibility
issues. Go to Firmware Upgrade from the Administration tab at the Router
configuration page and choose the firmware you have just downloaded and click
"Start to Upgrade" and wait unit it finishes.

6) After successfully downgrading. Repeat STEPS 1-2 again.

7) Reconfigure your router settings such as Wireless Security or any ports you need
to forward and SAVE settings.

8) Go to your HShield folder (default path: C:\Program Files\SD
EnterNET\NavyFIELD\HShield) and double-click HSUpdate and then the Update folder
and click Autoup.

9) Start Navyfield.
