  • Bee Hive Shells!?

Hi all... I've been studying the IJN for a while now, and I've come across an
interesting idea. Beehive shells! The Japanese B YAMATO had AA Shells for her main
18" Guns. They were like giant shotgun blasts to shred an entire squadron of US
Planes.

Read about San-Shiki Dan. Now granted, this may seem overpowered, so I'm looking
for suggestions on how to NERF this as well because otherwise ppl may think it's
cheap. But I did want to mention this; cool for historical accuracy. Perhaps they'd
carry only 1 bind or reload really slow in NF?

EDIT:
The idea was for a longer range AA weapon which produces multiple explosions
(sort of like a cluster bomb) and can bring down more than one plane. Now I know
that sounds really OP'd. ...Being a BB shell, the Beehive would reload crazy slow,
therefore nerfing the capability a bit so it's not overpowered. The other nerf is that
BBs' cannons can't aim at a high angle so they can't shoot down planes that are
about to dive-bomb them. The ability to use these would also be lessened because
the foe would have to be properly scouted in order for you to aim one of these right.
But in some situations I think this could bring something new to NF.

interesting idea, but unnecessary.

AA capabilities are already impressive on high level crews as it is.. just spam the space
bar.

They had AA shells for 18" before retail, but they were regular in application.

Subsequently it was reported that the USSR had developed similar rounds for 122 mm
and 152 mm artillery for use in indirect fire.
Beehive rounds became less popular in the United States following Vietnam, with low-
angle airburst techniques such as Killer Junior supplanting the use of beehive.
