The Sound issue is related to the expanded sounds, use the original and it
does not freeze when you are locked on by TB.

Try manual patch.

self update still doing the same crap, but i found that if i turned off the sounds, the
crash no longer happens as often, so the bombing alert siren was the cause of the crash.
maybe it is just my game, but i will have to reinstall it again soon. thanks for nothing.

yep. admin rights. the only thing left to do and that i was hoping not to do is to
reinstall NF... the game also seem to crash more often when there's the siren warming with
the plane sounds and when i do multiple clicks. not crash to be exact, but the screen
freezes, although if i press esc, the can't escape till you reach ) comes up, but nothing
else moves.

Just out of curiousity are you running the launcher with admin rights?

already tried that, 5 times. it didn't work. still updating that last bug fix patch. no
idea why still.

Here is how I get around it

Start the client and lets it download the files but dont start the
game close the launcher.
Then restart it and launch the game.

I have found that this allows the game to start up properly, and
will hope to avoid the repeat updates.
