i get this problem too sometimes, hackshield finishes loading then goes straight to a
black screen. sometimes its like this and stays like this permanantley, so cancel and
reload, other times it stays like this for a couple mins then the game carries on loading
as normal and im good to go, other times it just loads straight up as normal. whats the
longest you have left it on this black screen for?

I have this problem more often than not. Sometimes I have to restart 2 or 3 times before
it works, but it always works eventually. Mind you, if I have to restart more than a few
times I manually update HS by running the HSUpdate program in the HShield folder which is
in the NF install folder.

I still get that from time to time. although it was after the first fix for hackshield went
out, and even worse after the 2nd fix for hackshield arrived.

one thing you can do, run something in the background (a game of solitare or
freecell, a messenger window, anything at all). and if you get a black screen, you can
either alt-tab out, or use the windows key to get out of it. press control-alt-delete
and close the non-responsive program (navyfield), then try to load it again.

*** I've found that running a web browser or ventrilo in the background while
loading makes it worse, myself ***

it can take a few tries but it should work to get into the game. tech support will just
tell you that it's an issue on your side, to check your ports/firewall blah blah blah.

then of course, after 3-4 or so tries you make it into the game loading itself, then it
freezes up completely and you need to reboot, then start all over again with the
black screen. but that's another issue entirely :/

Try Reinstalling the game, thats what i did and it worked.

Okay let me think. What IS are you using what OS are you using?

If vista or windows 7 are you running NF as a full admin?
Have you add NF and hackshield to your IS okay list. It could be just that you IS is
stopping the game from loading and asking you to ok the updated version of the
game. But game not letting get back to the desktop. I have seen this a few times.

have u checked ur monitor size or resolution?... happen to me when i use smaller monitor
or lower resolution than NF requirement... but its all sorted out once i follow the
requirement and settings...

if u run NF on W7, you'll face other problem such as 2 inch black border when the game
runs, some sort of the picture become smaller and compact... up till now the problem
haven't been sorted... pls inform me if any of u guys find the solution for W7 graphic...

but after all, the game just runs fine ATM...
