become the customers sole responsibility?

Am I the only one getting support tickets blaming the computer, telling you to reinstall,
clear cache's and junk?

I get this one support ticket with all this techno mumbo jumbo and I'm thinking "wtf is
wrong with these guys.. I've never had to do this in my entire gaming career"

I'm just venting cause I love this game, but they have a terrible time managing it.

Hope to see you in game soon.

@ Theenderofen your been a bit unfair to Relorian. Support do seem to always think
it is your fault not theirs. Now if when you run the uninstall for the game it did it job
properly you not have to mess about deleting files and folders? You should not
have to run the game in a VM. Yes the game is an old engineer HS does seem to
have made a lot of problems for people. I know I had to add to my copy of AVG then
it worked okay.
Most support just do not read what you put just past one of a number of set
answers and hope it works.

@ Gump it is a pain I know but if there is bad file the best way is to just full remover
the game then. Download a fresh copy. More than one up date at a time the game
might play up. Also have nothing running as well as the game. Steam, msn, utorrent
and the like and try that.

@ Relorian

SHOCKINGLY this is an old game , and SHOCKINGLY it has compatibility issues , so i dont understand
why you are inserting a non-constructive comment into a support thread , if your gona go troll , do it
in the off topic area , no one wants to have idiots like you muddy up a problem that some people are
trying to solve.

@gump , did you try running the program in a virtual machine like BBR suggested? and have you
made EVERYTHING run as administrator? the updater , navyfield.EXE , the HS.exe and the HS updater?

So because the one replying staffmember has no issues, there must not be one with NF, it
must... SHOCKER... Be the fault of the computer owner.

I too have noticed the disconnects getting out of hand. However, these started occuring
after the latest event patch for me. I literally had 0 issues with lag or disconnects
before, so I also am going to side with Gump on this one.

I really enjoy playing this game, but this is definitely not a end-user issue (especially
if multiple people claim to have the same issue only after a patch). Something in the
game code changed to create this problem. I just wish I had a little more programming
knowledge to help figure it out.

Gump,

Not trying to make it your fault, but so many other are able to play and not
have the issues you have, makes it seem to be more likely to be an issue
on your end.

Have you tried using a Virtual machine to play the game?
I wonder as many of the other game you mention have their own version of
cheat detection and that may be an issue.

I know the PB and Valve's VAC do not like to run at the same time

Also this does belong in the support section

see the problem is, SDE's outsourced their Customer Service & Support Services to EA,
hence why you can't get any straight answer other than "it's not our fault, it must be
your's".

gump , did you try the clean boot like i suggested?(if not please do...)

and yeah , comparing this 6 year old game to a more recent game is... to be honest... laughable.

You can't possibly expect SDEnternet to be able to offer a level of support equal to that
of Valve's... I'm not excusing them for the incredible amount of bugs NavyField has, but
if you want to get your point across don't compare this tiny Korean company to one of
the world's most successful game developers. I'm guessing SDE simply doesn't have the
resources to identify and fix the many bugs that exist all on its own so yes, it does have
to rely more on its playerbase to identify and fix bugs.

no.. no wireless on this PC.

and I have an above average understanding and working knowledge of computers;
so it isnt going to be something silly like router needs reset or stuff like that. All of
the basic things have been checked and verified to work with other programs (I play
multiple games, not just NF).

So what is the natural conclusion? Left for dead works, team fortress works, civ5
works, wow works, eve works, company of hero's online works, world of tanks work,

NAVYFIELD. it's a crap shoot.. works and doesnt.

and when I tell people to trust me.. it's not my system specs.. I have a 6 core cpu,
ati video card (monster, but dont remember exact name) and 8 gigs of physical RAM.

I have tried to run this game in admin mode, compatibility mode, cleared cache's, re
installed, begged, pleaded, quit, come back, quit, comeback...

it's getting old..

how about this.. turn hackshield off for 2 weeks and lets see how the complaints
go.. just try it out.. 2 weeks turned off.. I am sure there is a simple way to turn the
program off---what will it hurt?
