The dual 15 gunsets that were originally used for the vanguard, QE, and repulse(and a
little for revenge/renown) were called the RP12s, they just changed the name of them when
they did adjustments(back when they buffed the vanguard.)

@ topic: i vote for vanguard's 15" Mark IV

Vanguard can run with the 2x15" Mark IV L guns. You just need gunners that are
EBVE'D or BVE'D. Like mine are. 2 Acc Gunners Huge at level 112 with 140 vets each,
around 300 experts and 20 recruits.

Also, I used to run Hood. It was fun to see a monty or an SY go down to the fattest ship
in-game. Highest attack I ever got was 91k.

No. The L variant has longer range (same as the L variant of every other gun in the game).

But I'm having second thoughts about the meaning of the original question... I mean
"Ignore all thoughts about range and non 15" gunsets please :P " Are we also ignoring what
the target is, what angle the shells are landing, what shells are used? Clearly the Vanny
is the superior ship in terms of firepower (I've never used one, but it's a BB4 so I don't
think I'm overstating...) and it has the largest gun space so it's kinda a no-brainer...

Repulse uses Mark III N, Hood uses Mark III L, Vanguard uses Mark IV L, and the little BB1 uses Mark II L.

im still only in a repulse but i can tell you that the RP12's (not the RP12s if im sorta
confusing you) are named MarkIII ingame

so the RP12s's probably have a different name ingame
i cant say for sure though cause im not high enough lvl

Definately Vanguard. rp12L is such a powerful gun. You cna also put 4x16's there
you can feel yourself as a small monty. I recomend you to use vanguard with rp12.
