I'd like to see some low level bombers get new weapons, like bigger bombs, depth charges or rockets. That would make CV1s more competitive. Upper level bombers would get multi-bombs and faster planes. Level out the DBs and TBs throughout the various fleets., let the sailor ability make the difference. Add more fuel to reduce the automatic turnaround annoyance during manual bombing runs. Today it's bombs or torpedoes, add some new weapons. Remove automatic bombing from upper level bombers. Make it more user intensive.
Fighters should have some win/lose feature that does not give one nation any clear competitive advantage or disadvantage. Such as: speed, armor, guns (cannon or .50 cal) and ammo, fuel and range, turning and climb/dive rate, etc. Planes should accelerate and run 110-120% when enemy sighted (burn more fuel).
Fighters should be about 10-25% faster all around. Scouts and bombers slower with more fuel. If fighters were faster, the fuel would appear to last longer because the fighters would be inside enemy areas before the return for fuel warning comes on, negating a fuel change or drop tank requirement.
Fighter and bomber formation setups (wedge, line, box, open, etc.)
Way points and patrol zones, (take-off, climb, go to point A and patrol to point B, C, D, or Z) .
Fighter maneuver commands, (dive and climb at faster rates)
Fighters attack ships with guns (cannons and rockets), increased air-gun defenses for ships to offset. Balance armor and air gun to type of plane, not pilot level.
Pilot ability increases aircraft's speed, climb, dive, turning rate, sight range, fuel rate, and accuracy of weapons, does not affect aircraft damage.
Escort friendly bombers or intercept enemy planes. (red/green reticle)
Double the maximum altitude in the game and limit aircraft max altitude. Install an altimeter remove percent-o-meter. High altitude scouts have greater sight range, etc.
