and yeah as ljsevern said, most of the BB5s and even BB6s are well balanced within their
respective tiers.

and even if there was a ship that was totally overpowered, a person from a very rare breed
of amazingly-skilled BB drivers using a "lesser" ship could still take a dump on that n00b
driving that overpowered ship

horrific spread at level compared to Revenge?

I am going to assume the "somewhat goods" are VE +11 Engys unboosted. In that case,
38/39 is the fastest you can go. You couldn't reach speedcap with the above engineers.

Montana speed cap with a lightish crew is 40 knots. SY is 42.

Montana can one shot any ship in the game with a full salvo. SY can two shot any
ship in the game with two full salvo's.

It all comes down to skill with regards to playing them. That is the sign of good
balance.

Yeah I guess that was his point. Potentially the Monty can shoot stuff with 1 salvo. But
realistically it needs two if stars are not aligned perfectly. He's saying SY can do it in
two too, usually.

Personally I find the SY more frightening. She's faster and the awesome AA battery makes
her quite nasty. That and I have seen so many bad Monty drivers it's not fun anymore.

In a 1v1 situation, the Montana will almost always lose against other BB5s (with the
exception of Alsace, sometimes). Montana suffers in many areas; the inability to mount
decent AA, having average and random spreads like most other BB and most importantly,
its sluggishness. The best Montanas are best when fought defensively, and if you have
difficulty running away from a fast opponent, you are dead meat.

However, I must say that it is my favourite ship regardless of the issues above. It's hard
to explain why, but it's best to relate it to the question of which BB4 is best. Iowa is an
average ship. Again, some may say the Yamato is better than the Iowa for the exact
same reason why someone will say SY>Monty. Somehow though, I just feel more comfortable
using a Monty than a SY.

I love the H44, although it could do with the damage consistancy being fixed, and
a slight turning force buff.

but the real best bb5 or atleast most exiting/funny one is H44 because it is the most
aggressiv bb5 and in skilled hands it owns everything but still can get in huge trouble if
u do mistakes. Till now i have played all bb5 exept L2 and none of them made such fun.
