Panther, I agree that it is a crap shot. I have tried all combinations both in this
thread, techncal threads and support to no avail.NF works flawlessly on my Pentium
dual core [email protected], 6.00 memory, 64 bit, IE 8.0, graphics intelG33/g31

but will not work at all on my AMD Athlon IIX4 640 Processor 3.00 GHz,4.00GB
Memory,, 64 bit, IE 8.0, graphicsGForce 6150S.E.

I have been blaming it on Hackshield but maybe it is another reason but SD Enternet
should update system requirements. I was of the opinion that even a hampster
cage computer could run such a simple program as NF before HS as it ran on any
machine I tried.

It usually takes me 2 tries to load NF. Hackshield causes it to crash out before loading
pretty often. Once I get in to the game, I crash every little bit.

It probably isn't consistent, but I can't remember a night of playing that didn't involve at
least one or two crashes.

Yes it will work but not 100%
You have to run the lot NF and HS as full admin and add then to your IS. Also best if
you not running anything ells at the time MSN, steam firefox and the like. Then it
should run okay most of the time. I get about 2 crash a week so not to bad.

NF on Win7 is a lottery. I have the following PCs

Intel [email protected] with 6 GB memory, 128 MB SSD and 5870 graphics

Intel Core Duo @ 3.2 GHz, 4 GB memory and 8800GT graphics

The i7 crashes no matter what the settings, the Core Duo plays without a problem.

But for most compatibility I use XP on a P4 @ 2.4 GHz, 2 GB memory with an old PCI graphics
card. That is the most stable and allows NF Fixer to run.

So please do not put it all down to people not setting up their systems correctly, for
some it works, for others it is a non starter.

Do what V2CxBongRipz did with the launcher to the Navyfield.exe. With the exception of
Do not turn compatibility to windows ME/98. The game will not run like that anymore. I
believe you can set it to XP compatibility though and Hackshield will let it run. Disable
Visual Themes, turn off desktop composition and run as admin as shown. If it is still
crashing while loading or at the login then you either have a progam running that
Hackshield doesn't like or hardware it doesn't like. On my win7 rig it would not run till
I disabled gamevance. After that it runs fine with a very rare crash.

No Anti-Virus? I can recommend free "AVP" Anti-virus, as well as free "Spybot",
"SUPERAntiSpyware", "Spywareblaster" and "Ad-Aware".

Yes and No. I have 3 HP computers running Windows 7and loaded with NF. My 1st one is 14
months old and has been reliable with or without hankshield. The other 2 machines were
purchased last month and will not even load NF. We don't know if the issue is Windows 7
and/or hackshield. Neither support nor nf.verify have solved the mystery. I have exhausted all
the forum suggestions, support recommendations, redownloads, manual patching, register
checks, and on and on. What has worked for others doesn't work for me so far but I have not
given up.

My recommendation is to try it on Windows 7 but don't be too surprised if it does not work for
you.

Why did I buy 2 new computers? Had mechanical failures on 2 older machines within a week of
each other. Odd. One was running NF with hachshield when it failed. The other had hackshield
installed but failed on the morning boot up. Not blaming HS because I run without virus
protection and a virus might have come in. No way of knowing.

All sorts of software products eventualy crash. Especialy if they were developed for
totaly different operating systems. That said, I have no idea how NF runs on Win 7
machines (still stuck with crappy "old" vista), but even here the crashing has reached
a minimum. Hoping it will stay this way.
