with all the guns i've tried so far, i've found that with angle 4 you can hit from right
next to you up to a few ships away. nice safe angle for very close combat.

i also find that at the start of a game, if you are at the front line and head towards the
island full speed and turn up right before it. if you are on angle 11/12 all you need to
do is aim to the left and press space and you're guarenteed to hit, these are with my
single 6" btw, will be different for everyone. but this works almost every game, i don't
even need to look.

IMO, the best way to learn is to go out and play some games using manual aiming.

It took me probably 20-25 games before I was comfortable with it, and now after
about 2 days, it's second nature.

I would advise you to get some long range single barreled guns, like the single
6" /45 and sit back and snipe people. It's tough to hit something with only 4 shells
in the air at a time, but because of the long range, you can stay towards the back
and work on perfecting your aim.


Other than that, all I can say is keep your chin up! It will frustrate you at first, but
don't give up.

there is a manual firing training mission, it teaches you all the basics. you could try doing the mission where you have to kill 30 frigates, that's a lot of targets for you to practise on, if this mission is too easy with the edin, use a dd.
i don't recomend the bb mission because they just come right next to you and you won't learn anything about aiming like that.
last of all good luck :) i've seen you around a bit on vancouver.

Use the training missions. The typical way to do the missions is to get right up on them and pound them but if you wan't to learn more then try and stay at a distince and work on learning your angles. They are big targets but you will still get the general idea. To take a little harder crash course go back to a ndd in the noob area. You will be forced to learn a little faster when other people are pounding you while you try and adjust your guns.
