IMO, the best way to learn is to go out and play some games using manual aiming.
It took me probably 20-25 games before I was comfortable with it, and now after about 2 days, it's second nature.
I would advise you to get some long range single barreled guns, like the single 6" /45 and sit back and snipe people. It's tough to hit something with only 4 shells in the air at a time, but because of the long range, you can stay towards the back and work on perfecting your aim.
Other than that, all I can say is keep your chin up! It will frustrate you at first, but don't give up.
