  • How can i help my DP gunners hit the reload cap.

Hello all,

I have a question regarding IJN DP gunners. I have read all threads about 'how to class
IJN DP gunners'. My problem is i classed my DPs as soon as possible. They are at lvl 115
and have reload ability 1750. They are boosted and have 100 vets. Assuming what i've been
told -> those DPS cant hit cap 2300(on lvl 120 i would have something like 1800 rld). Do
you think adding more vets would help with my reaload ? Lets say i would add another 50,
or even 100 vets.

my brother pounded into my head that gunners, aa gunners, and torpedomen ..

should ALWAYS be kept together as a matched set of twins from rolled 'birth' on ..
NEVER EVER seperate them for any reason ... keep them paired to level them up

and do not mix bases together .. both should have the same base stats in their area

The main problem is when you have slight ability differences between your gunners skill.
Offset reload is a bitch.

My DP were late classed, now at 105. and are at 94.5% max reload for AA guns.

Adlebert worked out the reload cap (different for AA guns) and then SDE increased it by
20%, so I use his figure x 1.2

Hence DP BVE crew with 120 Vets, level 105 with 2145 raw reload stat gives 2346630 true
ability.

Using previous info, the reload cap is @ 2484000

But with a SY, the reload speed is virtually as fast as it will get.

If you can tell the 10mS difference in reload over SDE lag, you are better than me.

Your crew will be about 70% now, a fair way to go.

Since these just capped a level or 2 ago if you want to get an idea of the true ability
needed to hit the caps do the math for the one with less crewsize. That will give you an
approximate number to strive for.

Hello all.

Im now on 140 vets and full experts, but still it is not enough. Your calculations are
most propably right - 200 vets should solve. Thank you for ur assistance

KM AA cap is usually somwhere 2 700 000.
If he's lucky, the cap for IJN gun is less, so it could save him some extra vet.

Use adalberts guide an plug in your numbers, see where you are at compared to the cap
right now. Then play with the number of vets/etc and see where you are compared to the cap.

I assume you classed on time? Mine were classed at 97, are level 101(?), with 150 vets
each and are capped. I think they are base 11. Anyway displayed ability is meaningless
unless they were classed on time because of difference in crew size.

I doubt 200 vets will do the job, he might go for 240+
