  • Data Corruption in VMWare

I run Navyfield inside of VMWare workstation 7.1 with Windows XP Professional
installed. The host is a Dell Studio XPS 1647 laptop with Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
It has a Core i5 540 @ 2.83 ghz, 8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066, Radeon 5730 1 GB Video
card.

I was not able to get Navyfield to run inside of VMWare after the Hackshield patch. I
kept getting a data corruption error and was not able to fix it with any of the
solutions posted on the forums. However, it would run in windows 7 on my host
machine so what I ended up doing was installing Navyfield inside vmware and then
copying the entire navyfield folder from the host machine to the vmware install.

That fixed the problem and allowed me to run Navyfield in VMWare. However, at
random intervals, I will still get that data corruption error and I will have to recopy
the navyfield files from the host machine before I can run it inside VMWare again. It's
random too. It sometimes happens after I've crashed, sometimes it will go several
weeks before happening.

Any idea what is going on?
