mailman
Hello NF players,

With the Marine Nationale balancing and testing in progress, we are going to run a few
days of testing sessions on the NF test server. Due to the low turnout in previous testing
sessions, we have decided that there will be a small reward for testing each day.
Depending on how much testing gets done, there may be another of the same event in
the following weeks.

The prize will be one million (1,000,000) credits for each testing session per day.

Rules for the event:

There will be 3 testing session this weekend, date and time can be found here:
http://www.navyfield.com/board/view.asp?Num=194449&Sort=C07

Using a voice chat server is not mandatory, but recommended. In the event the
Ventrilo/TS3 server is full, the communication during testing will be done with the in
game chat channel 1. Further communications details will be given before each testing
session in game.

Players who are participating in this event for the prize must be testing seriously (that
includes using the shiptypes designated by the testing team) and following instructions
given by the official testing team (named accounts and accounts numbered from test01
to test99 are closed testing and TNF accounts) for a minimum of 1 hour.

To be eligible for this event, you must be on the test server and in the official testing
room in the clan area within 15 minutes of the official start of the test session time.

When on the test server, ALL regular rules from the official NavyField rules apply. Since
there will be many players testing, and you cannot use your normal NF account name,
ship name MUST start with your NF username in full, plus a number if you have more
than 1 ship on the account. In the event that your account name is longer than the ship
name maximum, you will need to state it on this thread when signing up.

Players that have participated in the event need to register afterwards with the following
info:
This can be done via the support ticket (testserver report section)

Full account name:
Server: (Kaiser or Nebraska)
Specialty: Are you a BB, CV, or SS player? You can also list FF-CA if you do not fit in
any of those categories.
Nations owned and level: What are the nations in NF you have significant ships in, and
what is your highest level Bridge Operator in each nation?

A copy-paste and an example will be provided on the 2nd post.

"There haven't been any changes to the subs, so what reason is there to test them
yet? "
---------
Catch me up a bit here cos its been a while... What has changed with MN BB's and CV's
since MN has been released?

"Whether or not subs are OP shouldn't be a factor in whether MN SS are balanced
with other nations SS, but I don't believe SS should be a focal point on balancing.

CV's and BB's carry more weight in determining the outcome of battle, and with the
time thats available, I think it would be beneficial to leave subs out... At least for
now."

We probably will not be testing subs, but we will need people to setup certain ships of lower
tier and testing their abilities with and without torpedoes.

No changes have been made to the sub balance in any test team changes. No need for
submarines to be involved here.

Its up to mailman however.
