Hi again. I just wanted to point some things out. -Russia 1) There appears to only be one remodellable ship. Methinks it needs moar. The other nations have lots of remodels. 2) Also, a LARGE number of Russian ships in NF are badly outdated for the WWII period- for example, Pallada and Rurik were sunk by the Japanese in the Russo- Japan War of 1904-1905. That's clearly too old. Perhaps we should remedy this. 3) Russia needs a PCL. I'd buy it for sure. XD 4) I noticed that the USSR only goes to CV5 in it's CV line. o___0 5) The sprite designers got lazy- these ships are all designed based on graphics ripped from other existing NF ships! 6) Only 4 Subs? Other nations go to SS5 already. -In general 1) I think that the Neutral Nation should have a Frigate-Z. Not just because there's an X and a Y, but because it'd be cool to have a FFZ with AA Pom Poms. That sounds like a cool escort ship, especially for those who don't go with UK's Emerald Class ship. 2) Actually, you should be able to have a Pom-Pom style rapid-AA for every nation. It would make training for AA usage easier for US, USSR, MN, KM, and IJN players. As far as I'm aware only the Brits get them for ships. I've heard the Germans can have them on a submarine but I still don't play Germany NOR submarines. As do other people. 3) Now that I mention AA... The USN's guide lines for AA should be universal. It doesn't make sense for only the US to use them. -IJN (mostly naming issues to be fixed) 1) Remove "Kai" from Akitsuki and Kuma remodels. "Kai" in Japanese is short for "Kaizou" which means modified, but this term was NOT applied to capital ships such as these in the Kaigun. 2) Tsukikei... Oh God, don't get me started. "Tsukikei" does not exist in the Japanese language. They should perhaps rename it. EDIT: Also, my previous point about the Tsukikei was that the other fake ships in this game were really designed or planned but never built. For example the Russian ship Sovetzky Soyuz was really planned. "Super Yamato", as this game calls it, was really designed as well, but the IJN gave up on the project. (Read about it below, the real name was "Design A-150, Muteki Nippon")
) Tatsuda should be "Tenryu"- NF seems to be naming ships by their class, and Tenryu was the lead ship of this class. Tatsuda was built later. 4) "Simakaze" is incorrect. I am studying the Japanese language, and they do NOT have the "si" sound. It should be "Shimakaze". 5) Hiryu should be "Soryu"... Soryu was the lead ship in her class, and as I said before, it's about consistancy. NF names most of its ships by class, but Hiryu was not the class name. 6) The De Grasse probably doesn't fit as an IJN CV6. It is a German concept, and the Germans never could have sold any of this sort of thing to Japan. Even in a hypothetical situation, they simply couldn't do that, due to the sheer distance between their two territories, and the fact that the US would get in the way if they tried it. I think perhaps another papership would do fine here. Maybe just rename it. 7) Donburi is not a Japanese WWII ship. It belonged to the Royal Thai Navy. I think that it's still a good ship and should not be removed, but perhaps a rename would be nice. I still love this ship, as I can put over 18" of belt armour on it and run into blitz. People's reactions are the funniest when they see me bounce 8" shells on that tinny little ship. XD 8) The "Super Yamato" was the attributed name to a project called A-150. The AMERICANS named it Super Yamato, not the Japanese. The IJN actually planned to call it "Muteki Nippon". -USA Nothing to say here, as I've never played as the US Navy in NF, so I don't have any firsthand experience to note. -France 1) They ALSO appear to only have 5 CVs. -.- 2) As with Russia, all the MN ships are all copied or modified from other NF sprites. I'd appreciate some original design work, as I've heard others voice complaints about this. I.E.: Reynaud looks like an Emden Clone, etcetera.
I'll come back with more as I go, folks, but I'm outta time for now. Cuda
