  • Banned Player List

Starluck
Greetings,

How many bans does it take to get a permanent ban?

If a player gets a ban, what efforts does SDE take to eliminate that player from
using alternate user names?

(If SDE doesnt have the ability to track alternates, then maybe SDE should create a
banned player's list and keep it updated as players are added and removed)

Which players have been banned the most?

Which rule is most frequently broken resulting in temporary ban?

Which rule is broken the most resulting in permenant ban?

Which rule is broken the most resulting in a lost of Forum Privelages?

Side Note: If any moderator or SDE authorised representative was to answer any
of these questions or create a banned player's list, the end result would be more
trouble, more tickets, and aggrivated player base. SDE must and will forever keep
this type of info hidden because they don't want to be held accountable for following
or not following their own rules they have had established for years.

Starluck has never been banned, and there has only been 1 complaint ever made
against me, atleast that I know of. That was for humping in my sub and asking my
team mates not to shoot my helpless target while doing so.

Furthermore, I have never filed a complaint.... & I own no alternates.

If it is witnessed by a member of TeamNF then we can act. If not witnessed then we need
tickets with supporting evidence. I would love to trust everyone at their word when they
say I was teamkilled or this person bypassed the filter, but unfortunately I suspect there
are some that might abuse such a trusting approach.

Locked at request of OP. If you want it opened again, let someone know and we can do that
for you.

Thanks Vick for that reasonable response. If it weren't for the fact that players wont
get to read this post because it will get burried in the archives I'd say lock this post.

Without the lock to this post, the flamers will ineviatable start to trickle in. As Splid
stated in a post within the last few days, flamers will log in on alternates to spam
and flame on the forums. The unfortunate reality to what hasnt been said is that
without a complaint/ticket the forum moderators and in-game moderators are under
no obligations to take actions against those that break the rules.

Is this a correct assumption by me?

You are seeking black and white answers to issues that are invariably not as clear cut as
you intimate. Unfortunately, at times we do have to use suspensions to educate players as
to what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. Repeat offences of a similar nature
will often attract an escalation in the length of time the suspension applies for. Also,
the number of offences may also attract an escalation in our response. However, if the
offence is serious enough in the outset there is nothing to say we have to start small
either - attempts at cash sales being but one example.

The term permanent is often misused as well. What it actually means in NF is a
non-defined period of time. We sometimes use it to close off access whilst we investigate
ownership claims for instance - that is never intended to be any longer than it needs to
be, but the category selected is Permanent. Temporary suspensions can be placed in day
increments up to a max of 30, so if it is felt a suspension should be longer than 30 days
then Permanent will be used again. That does not necessarily mean that we wont release it
at some point in the future if we genuinely feel that the lesson of the suspension has
been learnt.

If you have a complaint and you submit a report you will normally receive some feedback on
any action taken. It might not contain all the detail, but you will get an indication.

We dont give out individual stats and have no intention of changing that.

We can track alternates reasonably easy with the logs and start up information, if we find
a need to.

The rules broken the most in-game tend to be language and teamkilling I would say.

On the forums probably spamming or persistent posting of threads that have been removed
previously.

An open discussion of the bans that have been served in this game would be
depressing for the player base, at large, to read about.

*How many bans does it take to get a permanent ban?*

There is no such thing as a permanent ban here. Permanent = about 6 months here. . .
