  • Torpedo decoys

I am quite frankly sick and tired of torp Whores. So why not make some sort of decoys you can launch at torpedoes when theyre about to hit you, that will make the torpedo blow up earlier so you wont take that much dammage. Of course to keep everyone from having it, they must weigh some decent amount of weight and must not be very cheap. that would decrease the population of tw! (yay!!!)

yes they did
some varieties of german torps used acoustice guidance, however the sub had to turn
engines off after launch
because after it travelled a set distance it homed on the loudest noise...

Of course, with proper tactics you can often escape a torp shot with little/no damage. If
you turn towards the spread further out, your chances of being hit decrease. If you can
stay close in to a torp whore and turn in towards the spread, you may be able to hit the
torps before they arm. Remember that they have to run 100 yards or so before the detonater
will arm.

It is a good idea to have some towed passive or active decoy, but WW2 torps didn't
have acoustic self guidance.
I propose to make anti-torpedo nets, what would be used when sail with very low
speed (5-10 kts).

BUGS:
- Torpedo makes area damage.
- Torpedo detonate behind ship's hull, or when other torpedoes detonated.
- Torpedoes detonate, when fired from very close range.

Minor BUGS:
- Torpedoes are fired like spray of water in one salvo.
- TWs should be removed.
- Some ships have too many torpedoes in stores (reserve torps). In WW2, Japanese
ships had some reserve torpedoes for second shot.
