  • Solution to the super-DDs problem

I'm in a Sirius right now, and I like it. Sure other cruisers out range me, but that's ok; I can still dish it out. Everything was just hunky-dory...

Until the Z99 and DDX were introduced.

Now I'm out-ranged and outgunned by a Destroyer! This is not right!

Now, you could just give them a both a good beating with the nerfing stick (the Z99 much more so then the DDX) but I have a better idea. One that will reduce destroyer cheese, put CL1s back in there proper place, and also make the game a whole lot more historically accurate.

I propose that DDs be limited to guns under 6 inches in diameter.

Wether by special code or tweaking space requirements, I think this would go a long way to making the game better, and more importantly fun for CL1s again. Depending on where the various nation's guns fall, it might require tweaking existing guns or creating new ones (ie. single 5.X's for Qs if they can't use single 6s), but I think it would be worth it.

So... yes? no? I'm an idiot?

I think the maximum Calibre you should be able to put on a DD is single 6" as I am
not sure what the RL maximum calbre on ww2 DDs I think the US Sumner either had
Dual 5's or Dual 6's I can't remember the specs for that class of ship.

Um, hello.... Destoryers out-ranging cruisers.... it's not supposed to be that way, no matter with nation it is. I'm just as opposed to being able to put double 6"s on the L.

Besides, I think anybody in an Atlanta or K-berg can agree with me

Everybody thinks their nation's boats are the worst :(.

Then you wonder... Why complain on the forums when you could be out training to beat those other nations?

I suppose I should mention that 6" is an entirely arbitrary number I picked... and it's not necessarily the best place to put such a limit, just what I figured might be a good place. The limit could be whereever (and perhaps be a range... as you noted the 5.9" - 6.0" closeness would be a problem), but I think there should be one.

So what about the dual 6" on the L Class? What about the single 6" on the Q? I think that they are okay. The 5.9" KM guns a virtually 6". Are they okay or not?

I see where you are coming from though.
