US AA guns really need some serious un-nerfing.
The second 3"/50 single should fire faster, the 3"/50 twin should have an 'A' version (and fire faster to boot), and both should have AAA shells.
The 5"/38 single should be lighter and faster, and have better range.
The twins need un-nerfage too, but since they are actually used and dont fit on the brook anyway, I'll leave that be for now...
Theoretically, putting 3"/50's or 5"/25's shouldn't be a bad idea if you have lots of problems with aircraft. Basically what you're trying to do is soften them up and finish off with AAW when they attack. Of course, you'll still more than likely hafta dodge.
If you want to actvely kill planes, however...
1. Put 6"/47's on your R slots. You'll lose a lot of surface combat capability though.
2. Upgrade to Cleveland, and put 3"/70's on your T slots. Just about any other nation's AA ships will outrange you, however.
3. Go back to Atlanta/J2/Oakland. 3"/70 N's with reload gunners are your best bet. Dont forget to bring your AA gunners tho.
